Embry got up to me and launched himself at me hugging me tight. "Jesus Nova you scared the hell out of me when you went flying !" He said worry filling his voice.

"Sorry honestly I scared myself !" I said with a chuckle trying to lighten his mood as I hugged him back. It felt so good to be in his arms. I felt like... I was safe... loved even... even if I know im not his.

"Embry... I'm fine" I told him it was a half a lie physically I was but it felt like my heart was going to shatter. I'm not his imprint... I don't know who she is but I'm not her which means he shouldn't be hugging me like this... like... wait a fucking second ! I pushed gently away from me with a frown as I put two and two together. Anger rising in me.

"Embry Call I'm going to ask you a simple question and I want an honest answer am I clear" I said my teeth clenching together.

"Uh yeah sure" he said clearly uncomfortable and not understanding my sudden change in behaviour.

"Am I your imprint ?" I asked looking at him in the eyes.

"Y-yeah... you are" he said looking down and I got up

"And you didn't tell me !? What would possess you to keep something like that from me Embry !?" I yelled angrily

"I wanted to tell you Nov I promise ! It's just I wanted to wait a bit with you discovering that you were the protector, discovering about us I just wanted to give you some time to get used to all this before telling you I swear !" Said Embry now up on his feet.

I could see in his eyes that he was telling the truth and I could understand his point. I sighed I shouldn't have snapped at him like this... "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have snapped... thank you for considering my feelings Ems... I appreciate it but I would have preferred you to tell me straight up honestly just rip the bandaid off" I told him truthfully.

"I see that now and I'm sorry maybe I should have but I was kinda scared of your reaction... I mean it's not like you have feelings for me like I do for you that would make things easier which never happens in my case" he said avoiding my eye contact. Wait a second. Did I hear correctly? He said he has feelings for me ?! I felt my face go red as his words settled in.

"Embry... you're wrong on one point... I- I do have feelings for you... I have for a while now" I told him blushing and looking down at my feet.

"Y-you do ?!" Said Embry clearly surprised.

"Yeah" I mumble slowly he lifted my chin up so I now was looking at him in the eyes

"Nova Swan you have no idea how much I've wanted to hear those words coming out of your mouth" Embry said in a whisper.

My heart was beating faster than ever before. Slowly as if making sure I was alright with it Embry got closer my pulse quickened. Embry's hand reached out, gently tucking a strand of hair behind my ear. His touch was soft, but it sent shivers down my spine, making me acutely aware of every inch of space between us.

Time seemed to slow as we stood there, the world around us fading into the background. I could feel the tension building, the unspoken words hanging heavy in the salty air. Summoning all my courage, I closed the distance between us, my eyes fluttering shut as I leaned in.

The first touch of his lips against mine was almost hesitant, a gentle brush that sent a thrill through me. The kiss was soft and tentative, an exploration of the emotions we hadn't yet voiced. As Embry's hand cupped my cheek, his thumb tracing delicate circles, I felt herself melting into the moment, the kiss deepening.

When we finally pulled away, I kept my eyes closed for a heartbeat longer, savoring the warmth and the memory of his lips on mine. I opened my eyes to find Embry watching me, a tender smile on his face. "That was..." I began, searching for the right words to capture the magic of the moment.

"Perfect," he finished, his smile widening.I felt a rush of warmth and certainty. This kiss, this moment, was the beginning of something beautiful, something I couldn't wait to explore with him.

A month later (beginning of August)

I was dumbfounded as I looked at the wedding invitation in my dad's hand.

Five o'clock in the evening

I just couldn't believe it she's eighteen for gods sakes ! How can she want to get married at eighteen!? I didn't understand I felt my phone ringing I picked up as I saw Billy's number.

"Billy ? What's up ?" I asked curious as to why he'd call me.

"As Jacob come to see you ?" He asked clearly worried.

"No he hasn't why ? What's going on Billy?" I asked scared for my best friend.

"He left after we got the invitation for your sisters wedding he ran out and phased out no one knows where he went plus with Seth and Leah newly phased out Sam can't do all this even with the help of the others" Billy tells me.

"Let me ask someone if they know anything about his whereabouts Billy I'm sure he's fine" I told Billy hoping I was right.

"Thank you Nova" he said before hanging up. Oh Jake. I left the house and went into the woods as deep in the forest as I could without being too far.

"I have something to ask" I said out loud to the forest

"Ask away child" answered the forest

"My friend Jacob Black he's left I just want to know if he's alright" I said to the forest hoping they had answers

"Physically he is well, mentally not so much but he will be back soon enough not to worry he just needs time to heal" said the forest

I took a deep breath happy to know he'd be back and that he's harmed physically. "Thank you" I said to the forest before going back home. I texted Billy to tell him of what the forest had just told me in hope that it would reassure him and also Rachel.
