"Phew," Jisung laughed taking off his lab coat. "We thought you're an absolute bummer at anatomy Mirae. You're SO better than us."
Mirae smiled in reply. She couldn't believe she earned this respect just because she guided them this entire time because they both were clearly clueless about the practical. And she pulled an all nighter studying about the practical.
"It's nothing... I'm very bad at theories," She looked down, trying to contain the red flush in her cheeks. "But, thanks Jisung."
He laughed and started walking beside her talking to her about some proximal and distal structures which they can incorporate in their project work, but Mirae was practically aloof to what he was saying as her third eye was focused on Seungmin who was talking to someone over call.
"Mr. Seungmin, please ask your girlfriend to call you later, we need to decide on the project topic don't you think so?" Jisung patted on Seungmin's shoulder earning a chuckle.
"Bora I'll call you later... Bye... And drink more water," Seungmin said into the phone before hanging up. He then stood beside the both of them in the hallway.
"Working of Proximal and Distal Structures? If you have any better project ideas, you can text me about it." Jisung looked at the two of them, urging for a reply. Seungmin was already lost, probably thinking what could be better than that and Mirae was freaking out from within because she still couldn't believe she will be doing her annual minor project with Seungmin. The thought was too good to be true, but instead, it was true.
"Say something?" Jisung leaned on the rails near the stairs. "Wait, why don't we exchange numbers first."
Mirae nodded and took out her phone. Jisung punched in her number just when Seungmin got a call, again from his girlfriend.
"Create a GC, Jisung, I'm off. Bye." Seungmin then rushed down from the stairs. Mirae's heart fell because this was probably what she was gonna have to face everyday. Asking her to work with them was the only time Seungmin talked to her today. She was glad that he did, 'cause she doesn't have friends for a group project. But at the same time she was confused if she'll ever be able to move on if he is gonna be around her so frequently now?
Back at her hostel, her phone constantly chimed with notifications from the dating app that she installed the day before after her public humiliation in her class. She thought that that is what she needs, more options so that she can choose from among them. But now that she was in the same group chat as Seungmin and knew that Seungmin has her number in his phone and vice versa, focusing on the men in dating apps is gonna be very hard.
"You gotta do what you gotta do Mirae," Sinae narrowed her eyes and looked down at her. "So what if Seungmin is in your class and you guys are doing a project together? If you're never gonna confess and keep your feelings to yourself nothing is gonna work out either."
"Okay but Sinae, look at them," Mirae passed her phone to Sinae to show her a random profile. "You think this guy is fine for me? Most of the guys here are alcoholics, drug addicts, and some even seem to be literal playboys. What can I do?"
Sinae took the phone and looked over some of the profiles and after a few minutes, handed the phone back to her. "This guy is fine." She sat down beside Mirae. "You will have to go on a date with this guy."
"Lee Felix?" Mirae scrolled the guy's profile and actually found nothing wrong with him. He was not from their university but was majoring in Accountancy and Finance. "This guy is just too good looking to be wanting to go out with me."
Sinae slapped her back, "Shut up and talk to him okay? Don't make any kind of excuses for God's sake."
Mirae sent him a message request and went back to her Architectural Design notes.
