Mirae nervously came trotting downstairs. Carefully dodging herself from her warden's field of vision, she ran outside the gate and found Seungmin leaning at a pole.
He was not on his phone, but staring straight at the wall. The last time she was this embarrassed to face someone was probably in her seventh grade when she got punished by their teacher for eating in class. This was the impression Sinae was talking about? This was how she was supposed to win over Seungmin? Even if he ever breaks up with Bora, she out of everyone would definitely not have a chance.
"Hey," She stood two hands away from him and tapped on his shoulder.
Seungmin looked at her with the most nonchalant expression she has ever seen. "When did you wake up..?"
Mirae bit her lips, he knew. "Just a while ago."
Seungmin nodded. Suddenly he handed her a plastic bag that he was holding onto. She took it and peeped inside. Her heels.
"I wore them home last night so their size might vary the next time you wear them," Seungmin scratched his head chuckling.
Mirae was still puzzled. "Why?"
"You don't have my shoes...?" It was now Seungmin's turn to be puzzled. Mirae quickly slapped her forehead and ran back upstairs. This was the odd feeling she was getting all this time while returning from the girl's hostel.
The shoes!! They weren't hers!
"I am so sorry," She handed him the shoes, panting. "I had no idea."
She would have had an idea if she would have just taken a look at the shoes she was wearing because Seungmin wore these black high-top Converse everyday. Ofcourse she noticed them long ago.
Seungmin took them and laughed. "It's fine Mirae." Pushing them inside his bag, he asked her, "You ain't coming to college today?"
Mirae shook her head and smiled awkwardly. She really is stupid.
"What about our meeting?" Seungmin tilted his head.
Mirae scrunched her eyebrows, "What meeting?"
"Today is Monday, Mirae. We have progress meetings in Monday?" Seungmin's low chuckle was heard again, "You really did drink a lot last night."
"Hey don't say that!" Her hand unconsciously swooped across Seungmin's body and his reflex made him dodge it. She were flustered but masked it well.
Seungmin checked his watch and then looked at her, "We are supposed to meet at the cafe in 15 minutes. We can cancel if you don't wanna come...?"
Mirae shook her head, "I will come.. I have a few suggestions to make."
Seungmin shrugged, "Sure, I am waiting so go grab your things."
Mirae stood on her tracks and turned to look at him. He went back to his original position of leaning against the lamppost while staring at the wall. She's always watched in movies. Men waiting for their women. She's watched her father waiting for her mom. She's watched her brother waiting for his girlfriend. She's also watched Seungmin waiting for his girlfriend. But never did she think that the day would come when he'd wait for her.
Ofcourse, it was just him being a gentleman. As a friend, he cared for her. He cared for her, as a friend. He has Bora, she reminded herself. But this time it wasn't a reminder that she forgot. This time it was an alarm. To wake her up from her delusions. Joke was on her because there was not any delusion left in her mind.

"I heard you got drunk with a random guy yesterday and Seungmin and his girlfriend took you to her hostel!?" Jisung funnily snapped as soon as Mirae entered the cafe. She knew he was just goofing around, but she still felt bad that Seungmin and Bora had to go through so much because of her.
