Chapter Two

I woke up to hearing Carl calling my name and I hummed sitting up, it was a chilly morning so I changed quickly and kept the jacket on as I unclipped my zippers and exited and he jumped into my arms, I held onto him as I walked onto the campsite saying morning to everyone. Carl jumped from me and grabbed a plate from Carol.

"Thank you, ma'am." He said and carried it to me and I shook my head.

"Thank you, but Carl, I'm a big girl, I can get my own breakfast," I said and he shook his head.

"Now that Dad is back, I don't want you to feel left out." He said and I frowned sitting down.

"Why would I?" I asked and he shrugged.

"It's not just you and Mommy anymore..." He sighed and I smiled shaking my head.

"Carl... I'm your aunt, I'm not left out." I chuckled and he hugged me I kicked my feet up on the fireplace as he sat next to me, and he looked at Sophia.

"You want to play?" He asked and she nodded. "Aunty can we?" He asked and I nodded.

"Where I can see you," I said and they jumped up and ran off, I finished eating and noticed I couldn't- a scream, I literally threw my plate on the ground and dashed past Rick and Lori. "Carl!" I yelled and heard the others running behind me, I saw them, and then the walker, I grabbed both of them yanking them both up into my arms and away as the men went to deal with the walker. I gently passed Sophia to Carol.

"Thank you-" She sighed in relief and Lori took Carl into her arms as he clutched my arm to him. I watched from where I was and the men beat the walker until Dale cut its head off. I gently pulled from Carl and walked over as Daryl walked out of the woods.

"Son of a bitch! That's my dear." He started to kick the walker and I sighed. "You think we can cut around this knawed area?"

"No," I said and yanked out my knife. "We can't risk it, especially now that the deer is dead. The disease will have travelled. Also, Men, next time go for the head. You have to get the brain." I said moving the knawing walker's head and they all watched as I stabbed into it. Rick looked a little grossed out despite hes seen this before.

"That's a damn shame." Daryl sighed.

"Sorry about your deer, but looks like you've got some good squirrels." I crossed my arms and he hummed.

"Damn straight," He said faulting his haul at me and I hummed. He walked passed me and I looked at Rick. I moved my head to let him know to initiate the conversation about Merle and he nodded walking ahead of me as I followed. "Merle! Get your ugly ass out here! Merle!" Daryl yelled and I walked over to a cloth and Carl followed me as I cleaned my knife.

"Always the head Carl," I said and he nodded at me. Shane started the conversation and I watched as they explained to him that Merle was handcuffed to a roof and left there. As we all assumed a fight broke out as Carl was glued to mine and Lori's sides.

"Tell me where he is! So I can go get 'em!" Daryl exclaimed emotionally.

"He can show you. Isn't that right?" Lori asked and I tugged at Carl, pulling him into the trailer.

"I'm going back." We heard and Carl jumped into the cushions and started to cry, I followed him and I pulled him into my arms and he cried into my coat. Or rather his father's coat. I saw Rick looking in here as I rubbed his head and comforted his son.
