Forever My Girl

Chapter 2:

A frantic Hailey used her phone, to call sergeant Trudy down at intelligence to have her alert the rest of the team, that she has Voight and they are in desperate need of medical attention, the both of them. The team gathered up together, bulletproof vests and all, they pinned Hailey's phone, finally getting a hold of their location. Upon arriving on the scene, Hailey had her hand over her gunshot wound to stop the bleeding, while Voight was beside her. The team rushed in, medics arrived on the scene as well, both Hailey and Hank were put onto stretchers and into the ambulance, taking them straight to med. A day or two after being released from the hospital, Hailey and Hank had an emotional moment. Hailey "you know when I first arrived you said something to me. You said no dad would ever want that", Hank "I meant that from the bottom of my heart, when Erin left intelligence and you came along I felt like it was my obligation to keep you safe, to stand by your side and any decision that you made. You and Erin will always be my girls", Hank saw the look in her eyes, and he knew it was her time to move forward, to leave intelligence and start over. Hank "you wanna leave", Hailey "I wanna see what else is out there, you know", Hank "you're ready", Hailey "what if  there's nothing more for me", Hank "there is", Hailey "what if I don't deserve more", Hank "you do. You deserve the world", Hailey started to cry, her emotions all over the place since it the next few days will be her last few days in Chicago. She got up from her seat, walking over to Hank, and hugging him, Hank hugged her back. Hank "you've got this", after leaving intelligence, over the past few days Hailey has been job hunting and searching for a new place to settle down in. Her eyes were on the FBI, a special agent, that's what she wanted. It was her new start, the beginning to happiness that she never got, she'll be going into happiness, which she hasn't gotten yet, and is very much deserved. Days go by quicker than she had even imagined, and soon enough she was putting her things in the cab and was being taken to O'Hare airport. The taxi pulled up to the airport, dropping her off, as she entered the airport and headed to her assigned terminal all she could think of was Hank. She approached the gate, handing her ticket to the ticket handler and she boarded the plane, sitting in her assigned seat. She put her luggage and bag above her and sat down, before scrolling through to find a tune she called Hank, Hank "hey", Hailey "I'm on my plane right now", Hank "you okay, I'm seeing tears, what's going on kiddo", Hailey "I'm really gonna miss you", Hank "I'm always here, you know that. You are more than welcome to come visit me, I'll be right here", Hailey "I know. My flight is about to take off and I didn't get any sleep. I'm gonna sleep on the plane but I'll call you when I land", Hank "okay. I'll be right by the phone waiting for your call", Hailey "okay", Hank "get there safe", Hailey "wait", Hank "what's up", Hailey "I love you dad", Hank "I love you too kiddo", Hailey hung up the phone, she toughened up and stopped crying after the music on her phone started to play, as the tune filled her ears, she fell asleep as the plane took off. The entire flight she was out, she felt a tap on her arm, another rider had alerted her that the plane was about to make its landing. Hailey let out a smile and then checked down at her phone to see what time it was, once the plane finally landed, Hailey grabbed her things and was off the plane. She took a look at the city, seeing how beautiful it was, she took the New York City transit to her final destination, upon getting out of the station, it was a five minute walk to her new apartment complex, it was way better than the one she lived in back in Chicago. She headed inside her apartment complex, into the elevator and to her apartment. She reached the door and opened it, going inside, she was amazed at the size of the apartment, so much room, three rooms, two bathrooms. The apartment was so lovely, the living room was pretty basic as well as the kitchen, a bathroom is on the main floor, and then they as she goes upstairs, they are three rooms, the bathroom and another upstairs leading to the patio. She loved it so much, she barely even settled in, she got a call from her Hank, Hank "hey honey", Hailey "hey", Hank "did you make it", Hailey "yeah. Dad my place is absolutely amazing, I have three bedrooms, two bathrooms, the kitchen, the living room and the patio", Hank "that's nice my love, I'm really happy for you", Hailey "well I'm gonna get settled in, and then later I have a tour of my new job place, I got the position as the FBI special agent", Hank "that's good, you've done yourself good. You do deserve the world my love, you're so special. Just call me if you need anything, love you kiddo", Hailey "I love you too dad", Hailey hung up the phone, she put her phone on the charger, and started to settle herself in the apartment. She didn't wanna make the whole thing overwhelming so she decided to finish settling in tomorrow, she grabbed her towel and headed in the shower, turned on some music and just soothed herself in the shower. She got a text from her new boss, just instructing her to come in for a tour and just a little rundown of the job. She got out of the shower getting dressed and ready to leave, she threw on a jacket and left to the federal plaza. She left her apartment and headed to the garage to her car, she took the half hour drive to plaza, she pulled into the garage and parked her car. She got out of the car approaching the building, the doorman opened the door and she entered, since it was her first time in the building she signed her name and said that she was guest, she entered the elevator heading upstairs to the FBI main office area, she headed inside, it wasn't packed like she intended it to be, it was pretty empty, a man approached her, "you must be Hailey Upton, you're coming from the intelligence unit back in Chicago", Hailey "yeah, happy to be here", "alright so basically I'm just gonna give you a tour, and then just set some ground rules", Hailey "okay", he took Hailey around, showing her everything she needed, and she even got her own office, due to her high level of experience she's the new lead of the team, "no pressure but the others are gonna try and push you around because you are from another unit, but don't let any of it get to you, I've heard your really good at what you do", Hailey "I am", "don't let anything of what they say or do get to you, you're here to do a job not to impress others or defend yourself, if it's necessary than you do so but it's not a habit around here", Hailey "okay", "okay so can you start fresh Monday morning, 11am sharp, I'll introduce you to the rest of the team, you're probably gonna to be handed a bunch of cases but we take the ones that are in desperate need of solving, most of the cases do require us to fly out to where the crimes are taking place, so we board planes and remain their until the case is closed", Hailey "okay", "just follow me to your new office", Hailey followed him to her office, her name was plastered on thin piece of shiny metal, okay so you're badge is right here, and your gun, we will provide you with your own gun safe, we are gonna down to the front desk to get your picture taken and have your ID printed out for you", they headed to the front desk, Hailey took some pictures and chose the one that was best fitted for the ID, her ID was printed, "so when you start coming in all you have to do is scan your ID right here, the elevator will open and take you up", Hailey "okay, thank you", "welcome to or team, I'll see you on Monday", Hailey headed back to her car, got in and drove back home, she was super stoked about the new job and her new apartment.

Once she got home, took off her clothes and put something on that was much more comfortable, she turned on the tv, and had some dinner while watching tv. Once done with her dinner, she washed her dishes and then headed to her room.

This is what Hailey's room looks like, she made sure everything was locked before heading to bed. For the most part her first day in New York was a massive success, and she was looking forward to much more experiences and more adventures.
