@ hankvoight I've been getting a lot of messages in my inbox asking me how I've been since my little girl left Chicago and Intelligence for her new start. For starters I took both Hailey and Erin under my wing after they joined intelligence, while Erin was leaving, Hailey was just arriving. Sometimes I'm hard on the both of them, but overall that's because I love them more than anything in the world, I lost my son so my girls are pretty much all I've got. Hailey's always been a dad's girl, always taking after me and just sticking by my side so when she told me she was leaving for good I did get really emotional. She's always gonna be my little girl, they both are but this is about Hailey. I'm okay, the first day was the hardest day because I was just worried something could go wrong but she's in the FBI, and I couldn't be more proud of her. Hailey I'm so incredibly proud to be your lead, your father, and just be there for you, you know I miss you more than anything, and I'm gonna come visit you when I can, I love you my baby girl. @ haileyupton: Oh my gosh, why? Hailey looked at her phone and noticed she was getting an incoming call from Hank, she answered it, Hank "hey", Hailey "hey", Hank "how's everything going down there", Hailey "good, worked my first case. We actually had to fly out to where the crime was, saved a bunch of little girls from being trafficked", Hank "that's great news", Hailey "yeah. I miss you, a lot. And the rest of the team, but mostly you", Hank "I miss you too, so I was thinking we got some time off, would you like it if I flew down there to see you", Hailey "oh my gosh, yes. I would love that", Hank "when is a good time during the week or weekend", Hailey "actually it doesn't matter. I have some time off too", Hank "you have time off, you just started. How come", Hailey "one of the girls we saved, I'm adopting her. Well I'm actually fostering her right now but I'm going to adopt her", Hank "Hailey that's amazing", Hailey "thanks, you could come in the middle of the week if you'd like. That could work for me, I could pick you up from the airport", Hank "okay. Sounds good to me. Listen I'm gonna let you go, you give me a call if anything changes or comes up", Hailey "I will", Hank "bye, I love you", Hailey "I love you too". Hailey continued to go through her emails, replying back to most of them, Hailey "good morning sunshine", Avery "good morning Hailey", Hailey "are you hungry, would you like me to make you something to eat", Avery "um do you have eggs, I like cheese eggs, and bacon", Hailey "okay", Avery "can I watch tv", Hailey "yeah, there is something we have to talk about though, but we can do that after you eat", Avery "okay", Hailey makes her breakfast, Hailey "do you want anything to drink", Avery "water", Hailey "okay", while Avery ate breakfast, Hailey went through the rest of her emails. Hailey "are you done honey", Avery "yeah", Hailey "are you up to discuss some things", Avery "sure", Hailey closed her laptop and than sat next to Avery on the couch. Hailey "so the first thing is how did your first night here with me go"? Avery "it was nice, I mean aside from the nightmare I had, you stayed with me the whole night so that felt good. Having you there", Hailey "that's good. So would you be okay starting therapy, I'm not saying that you have to discuss everything that happened to you with a therapist but just slowly opening up can help you get past most of it", Avery "I don't know. I don't really talk much", Hailey "that's understandable, neither did I but I'm actually glad I go to therapy because it really does help", Avery "okay. I can give it a try", Hailey "the other thing is you do have to start going to school, I know it may sound all like too much but I do have to work. Are you okay with going to school. It's baby steps and we'll take them together, I'm right here with you", Avery "I'm scared to go to school, what if the bad men come back for me while you're at work and you can't stop them", Hailey "please understand that I never going to let another bad thing ever happen to you, I will protect you as at costs, sunshine I'm not going anywhere", Avery "but what if they find us", Hailey "my team will be ready to take them down, they aren't coming for you. They can't hurt you anymore, they are going to jail for a very very long time. I've got you sunshine", Avery "I'm scared to go to school, really scared", Hailey "don't be baby, you're gonna be alright, you're gonna make a lot of friends and your gonna learn so many things, let's give it a chance and if you don't like it than we could do homeschool. Someone will come here to teach you", Avery "ok", Hailey "are you willing to give it a try", Avery nodded yes. Hailey "this is Upton speaking", "hey, boss needs you to come in. He wants Avery to identify the men who took her, along with the woman that was there helper", Hailey "I can't put her through that, she's barely even gotten a break from all of this and you want me to bring her in", "we really need her, the other girls identified the men already, she's the last one. Hailey come on, I know your trying to keep her safe and all that, but this lineup will go to jail once she identifies them", Hailey "I will be there as soon as I can", "okay", Hailey put her phone down on the table. Avery "what's wrong Hailey", Hailey "my boss wants me to bring you into headquarters. He needs you to identify the men that hurt you from a lineup", Avery almost became paralyzed with fear, she began crying as she didn't wanna be in the same presence as the men that hurt her. Hailey "I know your scared my love, I know you're scared. But I want you to be the bravest you've ever been for me, we're gonna go and you're gonna identify them, we'll make it quick and then we'll come right back home. I promise you baby they cannot hurt you, or they can't see you. I promise you that my sunshine", after convincing her, they left heading straight to headquarters. Upon arriving Hailey knew it was a bad idea but the team wouldn't leave her alone, or her boss. Avery pointed the men out no problem, the minute she heard the voice of the man that took her, her body became numb, she was unable to move. She stood there in horror, Hailey "I'm taking her home, I knew that bringing her here was a bad idea", Hailey immediately took her home. It took a while but she was right in Hailey's lap, she had cried herself to sleep, her hand holding Hailey's hand tightly. She could not believe what happened and she was so angry and upset about the whole situation. Her phone began to ring, Hailey "hello", "I'm really sorry about having you bring her in", Hailey "was that good enough for them to be charged", "yeah. They are being taken to state prison right as we speak. How is she doing", Hailey "she's terrified. She won't let me go", "I'm really sorry again", Hailey "I'm gonna need the next few days off, to deal with her and get her settled", "take as much time as you need", Hailey "thank you so much", "by the way I'm really sorry again for having her go through that", Hailey "I think it gave her some relief so at the same time thank you", Hailey hung up the phone. There was a knock at the door, Hailey "baby why don't you start heading in the shower", Avery "okay", Avery got in the shower and Hailey went to answer the door. It was an envelope, which was weird because she hadn't been notified that she would be receiving anything. She shut the door and sat on the couch opening the envelope, it was from her ex husband.
(It read) Hi my love, I don't expect you to forgive me, let alone allow me back into your life. I know that what I put you through is completely unacceptable, and I don't deserve a happy ending, you do deserve the most happiness. From what I know I didn't stop loving you, I know that I left and I pretty much left without an explanation and that is something that you definitely didn't deserve. I really didn't want to hurt you, I just didn't know how to take the job, I knew that you wouldn't have allowed me to go, and I know that I shouldn't have left you. I know that I'm the reason that your broken, that your bruised, it's all my fault. I'm at fault for the way you feel, the way you feel you need to heal yourself. I heard about Hank getting kidnapped and how you risked your life to save him, I'm so glad the two of you are okay, especially you. I would do whatever it takes to make it up to you, to win your beautiful heart back, I want your heart, but in a good way of course. If you're reading this I hope you could find it in your heart to forgive me, please understand that this time around I won't do anything to hurt you, I'll stand by your side and be your best friend.
