as we all know this book hasn't been updated in awhile, but it is NOT finished!!! i plan to continue writing it because that's what these characters deserve :')
i've been very busy w/ school BUT i've been so in the mood to write for this story and superrrr exciting news : chapter 29 is written & up !!!
but before that : i wanted to offer ya'll a lil character refresh since it has been so long. i'm adding chapter #s too in case u wanna go back and re-read any of these parts but u don't have to

CH. 16 ✺ johnny's death and how it affected madeline; the guilt she feels
CH. 21 ✺ cherry valance broke up w bob sheldon and told madeline about this, said she's sorry for taking his side over hers (basically bob is a sleezebag and now cherry knows it)
CH. 23\26 ✺ soda tries to be the glue in his family but feels like he's falling apart on the inside bc of it. only madeline seems to understand this and she's the only one who makes him feel lighter
CH. 23 ✺ madeline and soda both just turned 17, had a joint-bday party thrown for them and hooked up for the first time that night
CH. 24 ✺ steve doesn't like madeline with his best bud, soda. thinks she isn't trustworthy if she's anything like dallas w relationships. feels like he needs to look out for soda after everything that's happened to him
CH. 26 ✺ dallas is back from windrixville (after running after johnny's death) but he brought trouble w him. the group of guys he was crashing w are after him to take the fall for something bad they did
CH. 26 ✺ madeline finally tells soda about dallas' friends back in new york and how she was with them when dallas was in jail. only one of them was actually good to her, seemed to care about her, but he stopped talking to her once he got arrested himself
CH. 27 ✺ windrixville group finds buck's and dallas goes downstairs to fight, leaving madeline up in his room where she's triggered w ptsd from her childhood — finally remembers her mother's overdose and how it affected her
CH. 28 ✺ madeline and dallas' relationship is explained through flashbacks — he's the one who looked after her growing up; the reason he's so strict w her and mean is only because he can't bare to see her hurt again. he tells her he'll try to do better
CH. 28 ✺ madeline promises dallas she'll try too, thinking of how she kept all the boys from new york a secret from him (his friends). this makes her want to tell dallas about her and soda
