As Faith was putting her stuff in her locker on her first day of senior year, she didn't feel as happy as she thought she would be. Her summer had been filled with a lot of confusion and Senior year wasn't looking any better. Although she loved being back on the Cheerios, after Santana and Brittany convinced her it was a great idea because being a Cheerio in their last year would have been the best thing, there was so much missing from her life that made her days longer and her hope die down. As she was grabbing her books, she got approached yet again by JBI.
"Faith Hudson, rumours state that you and Sam Evans started dating over the summer but after a horrible breakup he fleed the state with his family in tow." Faith didn't know if she should laugh or punch Jacob over these accusations.
"Sam and I never dated, therefore we never broke up. He moved away because his family was moving. Now, get out of my face before I lose any ounce of patience I have left for you.''
For some reason, that seemed to scare him away and Faith slowly made her way to Glee Club. When she walked into the choir room, all of the trophies were on the ground in the middle of the class.
"Mr. Schue, why are all of our trophies in the middle of the room?"
"I was sure that our nationals trophy would grow during the summer."
"I want this image burned into your mind. This is what the difference between first and twelfth place looks like. It's also what it feels like."
Faith rolled her eyes before going and sitting in a corner of the choir room. There were a lot of differences at the start of this year. Sam wasn't there anymore, Quinn has been MIA since the middle of summer. And Lauren quit. Not even Faith had talked to Quinn. Usually, she was concerned but at this point, she just wasn't feeling it.
"Are you planning on bumming us out all year long?"
"No. I'm planning on pushing you harder than you've ever been pushed. We made it to nationals last year. This year I'm not gonna let anything or anyone stop us from winning at all. I let you down last year. I lost focus, and let some Broadway pipe dream get in the way. "
"Yeah, you know what I regret? Being the laughingstock of the show-choir world."
"Mercedes has a point. Finn and Rachel's The Kiss That Missed already has twenty-thousand views on YouTube, and the comments section is just full of pithy banter like why is that T-Rex eating the Jew?"
At that point, Faith zoned out. She knew it wasn't a healthy way to deal with what was going on, but she couldn't think of New York. It always reminded her of her first kiss with Sam, and the day after they got back...
~~~Flashback~~~
"I love you. I love you so much, Sam Evans...I just can't go another minute without telling you that."
Faith looked at Sam, looking for a hint of a smile, instead, she saw tears in his eyes and a frown.
"I'm moving to Kentucky."
Faith could feel a giant lump in her throat. Tears were threatening to spell out of her eyes and she was at a loss for words.
''You...you...What?"
''My aunt had two openings that she convinced her boss to hire my parents for. We're going to stay with her for a couple of weeks while my parents start working and then we're getting our own place and starting our new life. My parents told me when I got home last night. We leave in 6 weeks.''
Faith's Vision was getting blurry. The tears were starting to spill but she wouldn't let him see her be weak. She stood up, wiped her eyes and faced Sam.
