the three walked through the snow up to the commission. they walked in as lila slowly stopped laughing, "holy shit." she said as the three of them looked around.

"i was just here. how long was i bloody gone?" lila questioned as the trio continued to observe the destroyed building.

"it seems the grandfather paradox is affecting everything." five said as he set the briefcase down and rubbed his wrist, "even places out of time."

lila looked at five, "is that possible?"

"i stopped tracking what was possible a long time ago." he responded before picking the briefcase up again.

some debris from the ceiling fell down, frightening the trio and making them back away.

"we better get moving." five said as he grabbed y/n's hand and started to lead her to the stairs, "we'll check the infinite switchboard."

"and i'll check herb's office. little cockroach would survive anything." lila turned away and started walking a bit, "also don't bang on the switchboard, please."

"ew, seriously?"
"you're so gross." the teens replied as they started to go up the stairs.

lila turned to the teens, "bye."

"see ya." y/n responded.

lila walked a bit then turned around again, "miss you."

"that's weird." five called out.

the teens eventually entered the room that held the infinite switchboard.

five observed the broken glass, "okay." he whispered before setting the briefcase down and letting go of y/n's hand, going to the screen and wiping it before switching it on, "okay. that's good."

y/n looked around and chuckled softly, "yeah, there's no way in hell diego figured this shit out." she mumbled to herself at the memory of her brother claiming to have used the room.

she looked back at five as he started turning some knobs, a warbling sound coming from the machine as the screen showed footage of herb.

"there's been a rip in the space-time continuum. it's swallowing everything." herb said as five backed away from the screen with wide eyes, y/n's eyes did the same as she slowly walked up to his side.

"oh, my sweet dot, iris, josh from accounting, noah zimmerman and his wife marsha, their son hughie, too, they're all gone." y/n's heart sank as she placed a hand over her chest, feeling devastated upon hearing of the new family's tragic end.

five reached over and fast-forwarded the video a bit, stopping at a part where herb looked even more distressed.

"i've tried everything! i don't know what else to do. the timeline is collapsing." five put his hands in his pockets as herb yelped, people's screams could be heard in the background. y/n grabbed five's arm gently as they stared back at the screen in shock.

"this is...the end." with that, herb screamed as he evaporated.

the teens stared at the screen then glanced at each other with sad eyes just as lila walked into the room, "i could kill for some scrambled eggs right now."

"this is bigger than the timeline, lila." five said to the woman.

"what's bigger than the timeline?"
"the entire universe."
"yeah."
"the missing dogs, people...its the opposite of the big bang."

y/n sighed and let go of five's arm, "instead of the universe expanding, its now collapsing in on itself." she said as she crossed her arms.

"like a prolapsing rectum." lila compared, earning strange looks from the teens.
