the bright lights at buck's flickered as dallas and pearl stepped inside into the warm air inside and loud music. besides the music, buck's was also buzzed by loud conversations and laughter coming from lots of people. many people would go to buck's especially at nights due to its cozy atmosphere and cheap drinks.

"wanna go upstairs to my room?" dallas asked pearl. "sure" pearl nodded, relieved that she wasn't going to stay in the part for a long while since she wasn't really a party person.

dallas and pearl walked up the stairs leading to his room, each step creaked under their weight, adding a rustic charm to the atmosphere. the night air whispered through the open windows, carrying the distant sounds of laughter and music along with it.

inside dallas's room, the ambiance was cozy and really warm as well. soft light spilled from a nice, simple lamp in his nightstand. the walls were adorned with some posters, mostly band posters. but one thing about his room was that it was kinda messy but at the same time things were so tidy.

pearl sat down on the edge of his bed, which was a really comfortable one. dallas sat right beside her, his presence a reassuring anchor in the swirling sea of emotions. "your room is really warm and comfy" she spoke. dallas grinned and looked around his room.

"so pearl," dallas began with a calm, soothing voice. "tell me more about you."

pearl tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. "well i’ve always been drawn to art. there's just something about creating something so beautiful out of nothing that really fascinates me" she smiled.

"tell me something about you dallas since you didn't tell me much about yourself" she said. "well.." he began, not wanting to reveal too much about his very personal life to her, because he was aware about his big reputation and he was just a well-reserved person.

"i've never told you about my ex-girlfriend have i?" he asked. pearl shook her head, starting to get interested.

"about a year ago i met this girl named sylvia who was friends with a friend of mine and we got to know each other and we kinda clicked man. but i was in the cooler and i found out from another friend who came to visit me that she had two-timed me a few months ago and once i got out i broke up with her but she didn't really care. it kinda hurt me a little because i actually liked her" he explained.

"i'm sorry about that dallas" she said with disbelief. she thought about how dallas really liked her only to get cheated on especially while he was in the cooler.

dallas then changed the subject, eventually they started talking about their friends and their hopes about the future.

as they talked, the awkward barrier between them began to crumble, eventually revealing the raw vulnerability underneath. they shared some stories about their childhood, their friends as well as their triumphs, their laughter mingling with the soft hum of the night.
