"Come on, J, don't be a party pooper

"Come on, J, don't be a party pooper." I teased. "This house is already big enough for two people to live alone; I am sure Aurora won't mind me spending my days here while I am in Quebec."

It was a Thanksgiving gathering, which also served as the perfect opportunity for Jade and his wife to have a housewarming. They had been married for six months now, and Jade's elder brother Christian decided to give them a home of their own so that they could start a new life ahead. Everyone was present here, including his two brothers, Christian and Adrian, and Rachel, Aurora's best friend. His brothers were drinking by the pool outside, talking to some other guests who were colleagues of these three Grogan brothers from their company, Grogan Industries.

On the other hand, I was having fun taunting Jade again, attempting to provoke him by stating that I would love to stay with them whenever I was nearby. This house was indeed capable of fitting an entire crowd of jets in its living room alone, but the fact that I would really come and stay here was a complete lie.

Seeing my best friend make out with the woman I regard to be my sister was and will never be on my bucket list; I'd have to poke my eyeballs out and soak them in bleach for several days. But that doesn't mean I cannot get on my best friend's nerves every chance I get; that was my hobby, after all.

"Aren't you the star chef of LA?" Jade's glare could have made a hole in my face. "You can easily pull eight-star hotels to stay, so stop being a pain in my ass."

To stop myself from grinning, I poke the inside of my cheek. "But why bother when my family is here?" I shrugged.

"But that doesn't mean you will come whenever you please." I could have sworn I heard a whine in his tone.

I decided to continue this further. "Don't tell me that you have changed; I thought we were brothers before anything else." Putting my palm on my chest, I fake a pout.

Jade exhales heavily while he tips his head back. "You're still my... Wait, why are you laughing?" He said this when he looked at me again.

That made me laugh harder, clutching my stomach.

"I swear to God, Nick, you are an asshole." Jade throws some wafers in my direction. "Wait till you get a girl."

"Please." I cough before my laughter fades slowly. "Only you can be that whiny in love; I would never become like that."

"Fuck off." He spat.

"Aren't you having enough of that already? OKAY, SORRY!" When he threw the whole Pringles can at me this time, I scurried my way out of the living room.

Grinning with fulfilment, I made my way to the kitchen area, which was divided by a clear matte double slide door at the end of the living space on the left, and decided to chat with Aurora because I couldn't properly communicate with her. Rachel was also present, and I was unable to properly greet Aurora since she refused to leave her alone.
