⚔︎Ψ 𝐈𝐭'𝐬 𝐀𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐐𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐞 Ψ⚔︎

𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐭, Sebastian and I had to part ways but what the hell was any of that. Why in hell did the God of the Underworld want to speak with me?

I walked inside seeing the light on but as I turned to the kitchen saw a man standing there with a tray filled with a tea pot and 2 cups as I gasped, and the teapot exploded on his face as he shut his eyes and scoffed.

"Now I understand, I am seen as scary but hot things don't hurt me." He grumbled, and he set the tray down on the dining table wiping his face and patting his jacket.

"Who the hell are you!?" I shouted, grabbing a broom as he sighed holding out his hands.

He let out in an annoyed tone, "relax, relax. I'm not here to kill you even if I would very much love to. I find it funny to see my brother at his wits end being driven insane by a simple kid like yourself. 19 and just a beaut of power...that still threatens me." He laughed out and I backed away.

It finally made sense...

"You're Hades..." I muttered as he began to clap his hands. He cleaned up nice for the God of the Underworld.

You'd think Hades would never leave the Underworld...because he never did.

"What do you want?" I asked him straight as he rolled his eyes, "rude but fine straight to business."

He smiled and took a seat gesturing for me to sit across from him which I did.

"Look I don't know if you know this, but I'm banished from Camp, none of the Gods even want to help me. Why risk your brothers finding out?"

He laughed out and shrugged, "uhhh duh, I hate my family? I mean...my brothers are the worst, believe me but you owe me."

I scoffed and laughed out, "I owe you!?" I leaned over the table and said, "I could've killed Atlas if it were that simple, so I could certainly take you out."

He stood up from his seat warning me, "watch your tone my sweet niece. I have done much you don't even begin to comprehend."

In his thoughts he looked at me and spoke, "I want you to look after my son. He has been on this little escape plan, and I need to ensure he doesn't make stupid choices."

I gulped and muttered, "do you know if Nico is okay?"

Hades smiled my way and nodded, "I can feel him, so he is very much alive."

I felt my body loosen up in relief as I nodded telling him, "And why should I go search for Nico? Not like any of you Gods do shit for us. Give me one good damn reason I should even be helping you instead of hurting you?"

His smirk grew looking at me as he pointed my way, "I like you...and that's what I will tell you this."

Standing up he walked over to the stove making a new fresh pot of tea.

"Many years ago...I met a woman. A beautiful woman...I blame myself for hurting my dear wife Persephone. My biggest regret in fact, not like I have many..."

I looked at him confused as he turned to me, "after breaking Persephone's heart I told myself I wouldn't stand by my brothers' stupid rules of...well going after the children. It wasn't right."

My lips pursed hearing his words as he smiled, "you remind me much of her...the women who...I asked to be the mother of Bianca and Nico..."

Feeling my throat closed I frowned as he stated, "her name was...Maria...she was clear sighted just like your mother." He voiced pointing at me.

"She was...a gorgeous woman, with a similar attitude as yours. Protective and would risk her life at any cost for her children. Our children...I protected them with my life...until I knew Zeus would catch up eventually." He muttered the last bit as the pot of tea began to hiss.

He took the pot and poured 2 fresh cups as he smiled. "Maria and I...were in love in a different way that when I was with Persephone it was as if I had forgotten about her. Her mother has a reason to hate me which I accept."

I gulped and bit my bottom lip as he stated, "once my two children were born the prophecy was stated, a child will reach an age blah, blah, blah. You know how it goes..."

I sighed and nodded saying, "how could I forget? It's why Poseidon hates me...why everyone fears me."

He smiled and looked my way saying, "I don't... I'm...in fact...impressed." he handed me the small cup of tea as I took it in and sniffed it, it was lilac.

"Anyways I begged Maria to allow me to hide her away in the Underworld, none of those selfish Gods would dare step foot in my territory. But she never wanted that life for them, so I accepted her wishes. But then Zeus.... killed her." He gritted out and I widened my eyes.

I cleared my throat from shock and said, "I'm...so sorry..." he shut his eyes and said, "I only had time to save our children...I regret everything to this day. I want to revive her however I was warned of the consequences of resurrection..."

I frowned and stated, "the stupid eye for an eye situation huh?" He smiled and chuckled, "yes..."

Hades looked at me again as he explained, "I told my fury Alecto to take both my children and to wash them of their memories in the River Lethe...and throw them in the Lotus Casino. And just last year were they able to escape."

Confused, I shook my head, "wait...so Nico and Bianca were actually 70–90-year-olds?" He chuckled and shrugged, "you could say that."

I asked him, "why are you telling me all of this? What if Nico wouldn't even come with me?"

He turned my way and held up his finger, "I sensed you...once you were born, Poseidon kept it hidden from Zeus and the others but of course I get bored sometimes being in the Underworld. A strong and powerful child is what I sensed all to see..." he paused.

"From a 17-year-old girl...I knew you would be special one day and once you had created a friendship with my son. I knew you could be trusted." He smiled at me, and I crossed my arms.

I huffed out, "So? No one wants me in their lives so why should I?"

He stared at me and proclaimed, "I will help you in ways your father couldn't."

"And how? You're not going to kill me?" I spat with a glare.

"You and Nico both share a hatred for Percy Jackson. And now you promised my daughter that if anything happened to Nico you would protect him, and I will ensure the word is kept." The God of the Underworld stared into my eyes as I looked back into his.

"And what will I get out of this?" I asked.

"Well...what do you want?" He asked back.

I looked at the God and was silent for a few moments to father my thoughts, "I want you to go up to the Gods and ask for Luke to be allowed leniency. He is not at fault for any of this. You all put the blame on someone else for your wrongdoings and guess what? I won't have it anymore...so either you take up my words or I stay here. Or try to kill me. I wasn't scared of my father; I wasn't scared of the big bad Percy Jackson...Poseidons so called legacy. I wasn't scared of Atlas...I wasn't scared of Ares if Hermes...I'm not going to be scared of you."

He smiled down at me as he stared at me with...a sense of...admiration. But not in a creepy way but in a...hopeful way.

"Fine." He voiced out and snapped back to reality.

"You're not fucking with me, are you?" I asked with genuine curiosity as he rolled his eyes.

"I cannot make any promises...but because of Mr. Castellan's situation...I will look into it." He explained and I smiled at him "thank you."

He nodded and told me, "look after my son see to it that he is safe, he doesn't understand the risks he's taking."

I watched the God back away and slowly disappear in smoke as I sighed and muttered, "I guess I accept this quest."
