𝐃𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐢𝐭, he knew something was always wrong.

Even when Hayley left...he always knew or perhaps it was just a phantom pain...but even then. He always made sure to go to her even if she wasn't technically there.

Damien stared out into the lake of Camp Half Blood his fingers playing with a muffin, for the first time he wasn't hungry. Only pain, fear and dread were bubbling within him. He let out a long sigh and ruffled his curly hair.

Everyone was preparing for battle and yet he didn't want to, he knew that these children were going to fight for parents who could give less for what happened to most of them.

He's lived far too long to have to see any of this, having to see most of these children he's cared for, raised and love die at the hands of Kronos, at the hands of the Gods who couldn't do their job, who couldn't protect them or want to in such cases.

Already watching his best friend practically, a sister suffer at the hands of her father, Sebastian struggling to see his father pine after a woman who didn't want him, Alexander and Isabella's mother holding such high standards because another child couldn't and yet cares and puts all the attention to that child.

So many other kids at camp are going through similar or worse things and no one cares.

No one...and perhaps even the children still out there in the world are still suffering...or maybe they still don't know who they truly are.

Hera hadn't spoken to Matthew in some time and her heart breaks, her heart yearned for his attention. But she couldn't love him, she couldn't choose him, she had a title to uphold.

A family to love and look after.

Why can't she simply break the rule for once? Maybe just one time a chance to do something for herself even if it breaks her down even more.

She would watch from afar as Matthew repaired his marriage with Meredith, envy built up inside the Goddess she wanted to hold his hand, she wanted to share those little moments of laughter and joy.

Yet here she is stuck on Olympus with a man who sleeps with others while she looks the other way.

When will that pain just snap?

But it did not help that due to the great forbidden and shameful love she had for Matthew...she...

"No, that is impossible." Zeus spat out and he paced back and forth and turned to Hera and grabbed her by the silk white cloth of her gown.

"What have you done? WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!?" He threw her back into the wall, and she spat out.

"I did nothing!" She angrily spoke back, her voice beginning to raise as Zeus laughed and mocked her.

"Nothing? Nothing at all!? You already created Hephaestus; you dare create another abomination?" Zeus snarked at her and she glared at him, her fists tightening.

Zeus snickered and spoke, "I would have thought you to think clearly and yet you prove again you do not think at all."

The God began to turn his back and walk away, and Hera did something she would regret, "the baby is neither yours, nor is it simply a creation I made...on my own."

Quickly his head turned back, approaching her and shoving her against the wall as she grabbed his wrists and spoke, "you won't dare hurt me, nor will you hurt my child."

He then threatened her, "you dare not tell me who this child belongs to or instead of won't be just the child suffering its demise."

Hera bit back her tongue, all her children she held dear she didn't want to speak, she didn't want to speak her truth, "I...Zeus please...I am sorry it is all my fault I promise I have always been faithful, nothing happened, nothing occurred-I-I-I swear on all my children!"

Thunder struck outside, her upside-down smile beginning to crumble into a sorrowful expression. She felt defeated, she felt hopeless. Nothing could save her now, not even the child her body grew because of the love and nature of another man...

"He's a mortal..." Zeus began to shake, angrily he gripped her wrist even tighter, possibly bruising the immortal Goddess, his own wife.

"It is not fair...how is it that I must stay here...alone every night as you sleep with another over and over again and I must bare through it because I love you too much and yet when I make a friend, never betray you and simply due to my thoughts, words, and his love for me that I could never give back...this is what happens, this is what you do to me..."

Water escaped her eyes, trickling down her cheeks, her eyes glossy as she stared at her husband, the first man she loved and could ever love because even if she tried to love another and no matter the abuse Zeus gave, her heart always chose him.

That's how it was meant to be...forever...

He glared at his wife willingly letting go of her wrist as she rubbed the part that felt to be bruised.

"Once you birth the monstrosity you will get rid of it." Hera shouted, "no! I could never possibly do that it is my child!"

Zeus spat back, "Well it is not mine, the same as we did with Hephaestus you will do to the bloody child because I will not have our reputation and our name be destroyed or seen as stupid because of you."

Hera cried out, "how could you do this to me? Do you not love me!?"

He turned back and slowly stroked her cheek with the back of his hand, a small grin appearing on his face as he wiped her tear away gently and cupped her cheek.

"I do love you. And if you love me, you will get rid of the damned child. To save our reputation, Olympus will not see us as a joke. You will do that for me, my love."

He pulled away quickly and left the room as she frowned and touched her growing belly as she looked out the window and wrapped her arms around herself, holding her dress clutching her body tightly.

Why must she suffer? Why can't her own husband suffer? Why can't others suffer like her?
