Thrones : The Knight Who Loved Me

I truly love being a sole ruler. Making all the decisions, doing whatever I want and having no worry in the world about Luke. Life has been amazing lately. I spent most of my afternoons in the gardens and the greenhouses. I have found a new love for gardening and enjoy doing it in my spare time. I walk out to my balcony and sit on the couch. Lexi walks out smiling at me "You look so beautiful today" she tells me while sitting down next to me. "Aw thank you darling" I reply and reach over and grab a drink off the tray. I look over at Lexi as I take a sip. She has opened her book and started to read. I admire her for a bit and smile to myself. I'm not sure what Lexi and I are, but I know I really enjoy spending time with her. Lexi was elegant and has dark brown hair, which she usually wore in a updo. She had fair skin and was always dressed to the nines.

"Your grace?" Lottie asks me, breaking my thoughts. I turn and look at her standing in the doorway. "Yes Lottie?" I reply and motion for her to walk over. "Oh I didn't realize Lexi was here, I can come back later" she says quickly. "Nonsense, you can tell me whatever it is in front of her" I tell her. Lexi looks up from her book "Are you sure? I can step out for a moment" she says looking at Lottie. "Its fine, it's just some castle gossip" she glances at me nervously "Raven likes to be informed" Lottie says. I laugh softly "This is true! How could I not love a good gossip session?" Lexi laughs "Well I enjoy gossip as well, do tell us Lottie" she says looking at Lottie. Lottie sits on the couch across from us "Well apparently one of the maids saw Lord Andrews go into a chambers with a married duchess!" She whispers and takes a glass of water. Lexi giggles "oh my! How scandalous" I take a sip of my drink "I've been wondering why he's been here for so long".

"Also, one of the guards heard Willa and Hans arguing in their chambers. It appears that Willa wants children and he refuses to have one" Lottie continues. "Oh my, that is quite sad" I say and grab Lexis fan and start to fan myself. Lexi nods in agreement to what I said. "One last thing" Lottie says and leans in towards us. "One of the gardeners saw Faith and Ronin yelling at each other one night in the garden, in front of the fountain. Then they kissed!" she exclaimed. I sat there shocked "Get out! They kissed?" Lexi asks with a chuckle. "I am truly speechless" I reply and look out at the gardens. "Quite shocked indeed" Lottie says standing up. "I must be going, I will come get you for your meeting later my queen" she says and curtsies to us both. Lexi and I tell her goodbye then sit in silence for a bit. "Are you alright dear?" Lexi asks and reaches over and grabs my hand. "I'm shocked, I know Faith wishes to be with Ronin. I wasn't aware that they kissed, but I also was told she was back with Rio?" I say with a sigh. "I'm just confused, I think I need to go talk to her" I add and look over at her. She nods and squeezes my hand "You should. While you do that Perfect and I will head out. I have some meetings I need to attend to in Givmea. We should be back in a few days time darling" She tells me and we both stand up. We hug one another then she kisses my cheek softly. "Please be safe" I tell her "I will don't worry, I will see you later this week" Lexi says with a smile. "Ta ta!" she says as she walks out of my chambers.

Later that afternoon I was in the throne room sitting on my throne thinking. The door opens and Faith walks in. She looks pale and thin, her blonde hair is in a braid and she has on a simple black dress. "You wished to speak to me?" she asks and stands in front of me. "I did, why are you back with Rio?" I ask her. "I wanted to get back with him" she replies and looks down. "Do not lie to me" I warn her and cross my legs. Faiths lip starts to quiver and I know she's about to cry. "Darling, talk to me" I plead to her. "Ronin said we can't be together because he is a knight!" she sobs out. She covers her face with her hands and cries. "Well that is true" I say quietly "But darling I can change the law. Knights deserve love too" I tell her as I get up and rub her back. "That won't change anything" she cries "He doesn't want a wife. I'm stuck with boring Rio!"

I couldn't help but laugh "You are not stuck with boring Rio darling. Let me talk to Ronin, please? I want your permission first" I plead to her. She looks at me and nods "Yes, you can" she whispers. "You should probably go break up with Rio again" I tell her. She nods then wipes her eyes. "I will, thank you mother" she turns and walks out of the room. I sigh and move my hair away from my face. What the hell am I going to say to Ronin?

I sent for Ronin to come to my study. A few minutes later he walks in "You called for me your highness?" He asks. I motion for him to sit in front of my desk. "Yes I did, thank you for coming" I say with a smile. He smiles at me nervously "Of course" he replies as he takes a seat. "Ronin tell me about yourself" I say looking at him. He looks at me confused "I well" he coughs "I've always wanted to be a knight. Ever since I was a young child I knew I would be one, my goal was to always be a Dark Knight" he tells me. I couldn't help but smile "We are very glad you are a knight for us" I reply. "I actually met you when I was a child" he says and glances away from me for a moment. "Oh? When?" I ask surprised. "I was nine, I was at a parade with my sister Reya. You stopped and talked to us. You really assured me that I would be a dark knight one day and you seemed to like my sister. You asked us who our father was, once you found out he was a knight too. Then the next day he came home so happy. He was leaping with joy because he got a raise" Ronin smiles remembering the memory. I sat there stunned "Ronin? I remember that!" I exclaim. He looked at me shocked "Really?" "Yes, I felt so bad for you both. I personally made sure he got a raise. All until he passed away" I frown "I also remember your sister, she did a painting for us and told me this story. She turned out to be a lovely young woman. How is she doing?" I ask  him. He tenses up "She passed away a few months after I graduated knight training camp. It was an accident in the lake, she drowned" He tells me as his eyes filled with grief.

"Oh Ronin, I'm so sorry" I say, my heart truly broke for him at this moment. "Ronin did you ever see her painting?" I ask him and stand up. "No, I never did" He tells me. "Follow me" I say and walk out. He gets up and quickly follows behind me. We walk down the hallway and I stop by the door to Faiths chambers. I point to the painting next to it, it was a large painting of Faith. She looked stunning. Her blonde hair was down and curled, she had on a beautiful red dress and there was flowers all around her. "Faith loved her, she told me once she was done that she wanted her to do all her portraits" I tell him then look at him. He was looking up at the paining in awe "Reya met Faith?" He whispers to me. I can tell he was trying not to cry. "She did" I reply and put a hand on his back. "Ronin, I'm changing the law about knights. Even if you don't end up with Faith, knights deserve love and a family too. We all do." I inform him. He turns and looks at me "What if I ruin Faith?" He asks. "True love does not ruin, true love will make her bloom" I answer him. He smiles "Thank you my queen. Can I hug you?" He asks. I laugh "come here" I say and we hug. "Go get her" I tell him once we pull away.

Ronin bows then turns and runs down the hallway. I stood there smiling watching him. I knew that he was the love of her life. They were meant to be together, the invisible string had been there all along.
