The Campus Player

Chapter #02: Our first conversation

As I look up to see who's coming in my direction, my phone fell out of my pocket.

"Oh, shit. Where the fuck is my phone?" I angrily shouted.

A hand is suddenly holding my phone and giving it to me.

"Looking for this?" A soft voice asked.

"Yes, thank you" I answered then looked up to know who gave me my phone.

"Oh, it's you again" I said.

It was the tall, blonde, and blue eyed girl again. The one who made me felt nervous.

As she sat down on the bench next to me. She extended her hand to shake my hand, and introduced herself to me.

"Hello, I'm Paige Bueckers! I'm on the women's basketball team; UConn. And what about you?" She asked.

"Hello, I'm Cleio Clark! I'm part of the school's swimming team" I replied.

I told her that I'm waiting for my team mates because they're still at the evaluation room, and she's also waiting for her team mates.

"Maybe, faith brought us to be here" she laughed and added " I'm just playing around". We both laughed.

While we're still talking, paul suddenly called me to go back to our dorm. I said goodbye to Paige and went to paul. I turned around to where we sat and waved to her, and she waved back.

After paul and I went to our building, we parted ways since his dorm room is on the 4th floor and mine's on the 5th floor. My best friend kay who happens to be my team mate and room mate suddenly went up to me and playfully pushed me. She grinned then asked me "why are you smiling so hard, huh?" I said "What are you talking about?" "Don't act like you don't know" said kay.

As a person who cannot hide my feelings well, I spilled the story to kay.
"Are you talking about Paige the player?"she asked me. "You mean Paige Bueckers?" I replied.

"Babe, don't get captivated by her pretty face and sweetness. A rumor is going around that she's a player, so careful if you don't want to get hurt" said kay.

"Kay, don't worry she's not even into me. She's just being friendly" I said.
