"Smile."
I bare my teeth so he can brush them and after he's done he tells me to smile again before sending me into the bedroom.
I use my hands to feel my surroundings and when I make it to the bed, I climb on top of the mattress and wait for the covers to be pulled over me.
A few minutes later I'm tucked in with him by my side. He strokes my hair, like he's done every night. "Shh... shh... go to sleep, sweetheart." His hot breath hits my face.
"Will I ever be able to know your name?"
Silence.
And then, "You can call me Dan."
"Okay." I say softly.
The world turns even more black and few minutes later.
