When Paths Cross

Chapter Five

At one pm sharp the doorbell rings and the other than the last time Kurt is not surprised when Sebastian opens the door. "Kurt! Good to see you again. I heard a lot about you since we last saw each other" the man greets and Kurt nods and smiles "Likewise Sebastian".

"Come in. Blaine still needs a second to fix his hair" Sebastian says, letting the other man in. He guides them to the couch where they both sit down and wait for Blaine come out of the bathroom. To start a conversation Sebastian mentions "He's excited for what you have planned". "Me too. He doesn't know a thing but I can't wait to see his reaction" the chestnut haired man laughs.

"The walls have ears but can you still tell me what you have planned? Whisper. In my ear. I'm curious" the younger man asks and Kurt nods, leaning over and whispering in Sebastians ear. Once done he sees his eyes widen "Wow. He'll be the happiest man alive. You're good". "Thank you" Kurt answers grinning.

Just then the door opens and Blaine comes out of the bathroom "Thank you for what?". "Kurt told me what you two will do today and you will love it" Sebastian explains. Just like Sebastian did before Blaines eyes widen "So what are we doing?". "I'm still not going to tell you" Kurt says, laughing at Blaines pout.

"Hi" Kurt then finally says as he stands up and goes to stand in front of Blaine. "Hi" the curly haired man answers and higs Kurt tightly before parting again. "Ready?" Kurt asks, holding out his hand for the other man to take. "Ready" Blaine answers and takes the outstretched hand. They both say bye to Sebastian and leave the apartment after Blaine took his bag.

"First lets get some lunch. I found this cute new place and it should be good. According to Rachel" Kurt says and admits "To be honest Rachel was the one who found the place but I thought it's cute". They only walk for a few minutes until Kurt holds a door open and they both enter. It really is cute. Cozy interior, only a few tables and a delicious smell fills the room while quiet music plays in the background.

A waiter quickly shows them their table and after ordering Kurt and Blaine quickly engage in a conversation about everything and nothing. Blaine tries a couple of times to get Kurt to tell him what they will do after but the chestnut haired man keeps his mouth shut. The food is delicious and the dessert an absolute highlight. Rachel was right. It's really good.

Kurt insists on paying since this time he asked Blaine out and shortly after the couple makes their way to the subway station, their fingers once again tangled. Blaine is surprised when they get out of the subway and walk towards the library. Only when they stand in front of the building Kurt stops "You trust me?". "Yes why?" the curly haired man asks back. "Close your eyes. I lead you" Kurt says with a smile.

Blaine does as told and feels Kurts hand taking his and the other hand on his back. Like that they slowly take one step after another". Now we're taking the elevator" Kurt says when they stop. Blaine hears a bing and then doors sliding open. They take three steps and stop again. The doors close and the curly haired man feels the elevator moving.

"We're almost there. Just a few more steps when we get off the elevator. Keep your eyes closed until I tell you to open them" Kurt stays and the other man nods "Okay". They really only need a few more steps until they stop again and Blaine hears a mans voice "Tickets?". He can't hear Kurt answering but feels Kurts hand leave his back for a short moment. "Enjoy" the voice then says and Kurts hand is back at Blaines back as they walk the final steps.

Blaine can hear voices around him, people having conversations about all different topics. "Alright" Kurts voice is close to his ear "Open your eyes". The curly haired man does so and his face drops. They stand in a conference room of the library. Chairs stand in multiple rows and at the front a single chair on a stage, a table and some water. Next to him is a sign, telling him where he is. "A reading of the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo? By Taylor Jenkins Reid herself? Kurt that's incredible!" Blaine says, his eyes shining brighter than the sun.
