Kurt: Thanks again for the lunch
Blaine: That's the least I could do after you drove all the way to my house to bring me my bag
Kurt: You're welcome. I'm glad I did it because else we wouldn't have met. I had a really great afternoon
Blaine: I'm glad too. I enjoyed having lunch with you
Kurt: Do you want to meet at the library tomorrow? I don't have to study so we can spend a nice afternoon reading
Blaine: Sure. I'm free around 2. We could get a coffee and find a nice spot inside
Kurt: 2 sounds good. Coffee sounds even better. What were you reading earlier?
Blaine: One True Love by Taylor Jenkins Reid. I loved The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo so I thought I read another book of hers. What's your current read?
Kurt: The Midnight Library. I'm almost done and it's okay so far. If I'm done with that tomorrow I might start The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo if you loved it so much
Blaine: Please do! It's one of my all time favoritesThey talk on the phone that evening. Not that much before both decide to read but stay on the phone while doing so. Besides some quiet music from Kurts laptop playing his reading/study playlist it's silent because both are so focused on the story their book tells.
"I'm done" Kurt breaks the silence shortly after midnight. "Your rating?" the other man asks. "Uhm" Kurt thinks "three stars out of five". Blaine nods although the other man can't see it "It's on my tbr. Would you recommend it?". "I don't know. It's a god story but really boring in between and sometimes I could hardly motivate myself to continue sometimes. So I want to read your favorite book next before I can get into a reading slump" the chestnut haired man explains and Blaine agrees "Understandable".
"It's late. I think I go to bed but you can read some more. Just don't stay up too long" Kurt says with a yawn. "Okay. Sleep well Kurt. See you tomorrow" Blaine says with a smile. "I'm looking forward to it. Good night Blaine" the other man responds and hangs up. A big grin spreads on his lips. How is it that he only knows Blaine since today but already feels like he is flying? How is it that they spend one afternoon together but he feels like they know each other their whole life? How is it that from the moment he saw Blaine he felt a connection?

Blaine feels a little nervous when he goes to the library but he can't hide his smile when he sees the pale young man with chestnut hair and beautiful blue eyes stand in front of the café. "Hey. I hope you're not waiting long?" the curly haired man greets with a hug. "No. Only a few minutes. Coffee?" Kurt asks back an Blaine nods "Let's go".
With their coffee the young men search for a good place, finding a reading corner with two big comfortable armchairs "I thought instead of checking out a library book you could take my book? Yes it looks used but if you don't mind you can take it" the curly haired man says, taking the book out of his bag. "It has tabs. That's so cool. I'm way too lazy for that" Kurt admits. "I hardly do it but with this book I thought I try it and it was totally worth it" the other man says.
"I like it a lot and I'm curious. About the story and your notes" the chestnut haired man says and takes the book from Blaines hands. "I hope you like it" Blaine answers and takes his own book out of his bag. Comfortable silence settles quickly as both open the book and start reading, taking sips of their coffee in between. Later they also talk about the books. Or more about the one as Kurt tells Blaine how he likes the book so far and Blaine tells Kurt that one of the reasons why he liked it so much was because it was an emotional roller coaster.
When dinner times comes around the two have to say goodbye. Together they go out to the front and hug goodbye. "I had a great afternoon. Again" the chestnut haired man says and Blaine nods agreeing "Me too. It was nice to read in company especially to finally have someone to talk to about books too". He bites his lips, trying to not get lost in Kurts eyes before he takes a deep breath and continues "Look this might sounds crazy but I feel a connection. Between us. I can't really explain it but maybe you feel it too. I know that we met yesterday but would you like to go on a date with me? Next weekend?".
"I would love to. Next weekend sounds perfect. Just end me the details so I know when and where" the other man says with a smile. Again he hugs Blaine before he says "I have to go now or I'll miss my subway and the girls will be mad because it's my turn cooking. But I will continue reading at home". "Sounds good. Keep me updated on how you like it" the curly haired man says before they have to separate to catch their subways.

Blaine: Forget the where. I will pick you up on Saturday at 6 pm. Just send me your address and I'll be there
Kurt: Gentleman. Dress code?
Blaine: Not too fancy but also not gym clothes. Most importantly feel comfortable. I trust your awesome sense for fashion
Kurt: Thank you very much. I'll wait for you at 6*****
Kurt: Are you at the library on Wednesday? I want to study because I have an exam on Thursday but I can't focus at home
Blaine: Sure. I need to study anyway. I can be there at three. You?
Kurt: Four. My last class ends at three
Blaine: Four it is
Kurt: Awesome. See you then*****
"I called in sick at work today but I go next week at Tuesday" Kurt announces when he comes out of his room. "Big plans on Saturday?" Santana asks and her friend nods "I have a date". "With the library guy?" now Rachel asks and again Kurt nods "His name is Blaine and he will pick me up at home". "Aww. Do you have a crush?" the brunette girl asks.
Kurt sighs as he sits down on the couch "I think so yes. There's something between us. Like a connection you know? I know we don't know each other for long but I'm happy when I'm with him and although we got to know each other well I want to get to know him more. I really like him". "Lady Hummel is in love" Santana smirks. "Shut up Snixx" Kurt answers but he can't hide a smile.

"You bought coffee?" Kurt asks when he spots Blaine at the library. "Hello to you too" the curly haired man greets with a laugh. "Hello. We have four coffee now" Kurt laughs and puts his two cups to Blaines. "The more the better. Right?" Blaine smiles "Ready for a study session? I thought we could reward ourselves with some reading". "Sounds like a plan" Kurt answers.
He sits down and unpacks his stuff. Next he takes out his air pods and asks "Study playlist?". "Yes please" the curly haired man answers and puts one in. As soon as Kurt hits play the two men start to study, listening to Kurts playlist and drinking the coffee. From time to time they look up and share a few seconds of eye contact but that's it.
About an hour later they stop studying and instead get comfortable with their books. By now Blaine is done with One True Loves and reads A Good Girls Guide To Murder while Kurt continues with The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo. He has come quite far with the book. Blaine was right. This book is amazing.
"I think this book has a good chance to be one of my new favorites. Next to the Evelyn Hugo one. It's well written and I can hardly put it away because of the awesome plot. So far I highly recommend it but let me read all htree books first" the curly haired man says, not looking up from his book. "I heard a lot of good stuff about it" Kurt answers. He looks up shortly and smiles at the sight of the other man focused on his book.
"I can't wait for Saturday" Kurt says when they leave the library around 7. Luckily it's Rachels time to cook. "Me neither. It's not much but I planned something simple" the other man says shyly. It's getting dark outside so Kurt can't see his blush. "I like simple. I already have my outfit ready" Kurt says and both laugh. "Sure you have. Well, I see you on Saturday because if I don't go now I don't catch my subway" the curly haired man says and after y tight hug he runs down the stairs.
*****
"Seb you need to help me" Blaine says when he comes in again. "Ah look who's home. Dinner is in the fridge since you didn't want to eat with me" the other man says with a raised eyebrow. "You're the best" the curly haired man says "You still need to help me". "Okay. With what?" the other man asks.
"I need an outfit for Saturday. Kurt is really stylish and I don't want to look like a fool next to him" the curly haired man says and his best friend laughs "I look what I can find in your closet and you eat dinner". "Thank you. You're the best" Blaine hugs him shortly before he goes to the kitchen to warm up his dinner.
