Taehyung bowed respectfully to the elders gathered in the hall, exchanging smiles as he took his designated seat in the center. Surrounded by the friends and families, the atmosphere was electric with excitement, with each moment leading up to the ceremony. Taehyung's presence added to the lively energy in the room, his demeanor reflecting a mix of eagerness and poise as they all waited for Jungkook to arrive.
"Can we call your son then?" Taehyung's uncle asked Jungkook's father. "Sure.. Sure.. Yuna. Mm." Mr Jeon said to his wife who was standing near the door. Mrs Jeon nodded and went inside along with a few of their relatives.
As Mrs. Jeon entered the room where Jungkook was standing, she found her son fussing over his appearance, adjusting his dress nervously. "It's time, Jungkook," Mrs. Jeon's gentle voice broke Jungkook's trance. Startled, he looked up, meeting his mother's reassuring gaze. Jungkook nodded and inhaled deeply, bracing himself for the historic moment that lay ahead. He glanced at Jin and with determined steps, he followed his mother out of the room along with the other relatives.
Jungkook made his way to the hall, each step felt like an eternity. His shy smile flickered whenever his gaze met the familiar faces of relatives lining the path. With bated breath and trembling hands, he finally reached the door of the hall.
"Let Jungkook sit to the left of the groom." One of their relatives said. Jin took Jungkook's hand and led him towards Taehyung. With a respectful bow to everyone present, Jungkook settled into his seat beside Taehyung.
Feeling a surge of nervous energy, Jungkook moistened his lips as he stole a glance at Taehyung and found him looking ahead at the relatives. Jungkook's gaze then shifted to Mrs. Kim, whose gentle smile provided him with a sense of calm. Returning the smile, Jungkook turned his attention to Taeri, who smiled warmly at him while cradling the little baby in her arms. It was a comforting sight amidst the flurry of emotions swirling within Jungkook.
Jungkook exhaled open mouthed when he heard the priest chanting prayers of the wedding ceremony. Jungkook closed his eyes and opened and turned to again steal a glance at Taehyung but Jungkook's heart skipped a beat when he caught Taehyung's gaze already fixed on him. Feeling a surge of nervousness, he nervously adjusted a loose strand of hair behind his ear.
"You look different, Jungkook." Jungkook nodded when he heard Taehyung's whisper. "In good or bad terms?" Jungkook ventured, but Taehyung's response was silence.
As Jungkook turned to look at him, he found Taehyung's gaze unwavering, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. "I don't know." Taehyung replied softly, leaving Jungkook even more puzzled. "I don't know? What do you mean by I don't know? It's a simple question." Jungkook whispered. Taehyung smiled as he looked ahead at the relatives who were watching them with admiration. Before Jungkook could press more on the unanswered question, the priest's words grabbed his attention.
"Taehyung. Please wear this ring on Jungkook's finger if you wish to take him as your lawful husband." The priest held out the ring and Taehyung accepted it with a gentle touch before turning to face Jungkook. "If you allow me, Jungkook," Taehyung whispered, his voice filled with sincerity. Jungkook's heart swelled with a mix of emotions as he glanced at his family for reassurance, then extended his finger towards Taehyung. Their eyes met before Taehyung carefully slid the ring onto Jungkook's finger and caressed it lightly, dealing their bond in front of their loved one. Jungkook's eyes flickered between Taehyung's face and his thumb that was gently stroking his ring finger. As Taehyung turned to face the family and friends, both of them heard cheerful applause.
