Something was... Off.
That was the thought that Elizabeth couldn't get out of her mind, she wasn't quite sure of what that was.
For some reason, she had this... Feeling as if something important had happened.
But a quick recall didn't show up anything at all.
Also, she had this gnawing feeling in her heart that she was supposed to ask something important.
But she had already asked, and Mother was fussing around in her purse for something to get.
At this point, the table was empty since most of the empty plates were on the dishwasher machine.
So they had the table ready for this impromptu class her mother was preparing.
"Soooo... [This]. The easiest way to think of that is as a prayer." Said her mother starting her class in the most awful way possible.
Her mother wasn't a believer, in anything.
She had proof of the existence of gods, devils, and everything in between, but she had an almost religious (Pun intended) hate for them.
"And now, don't give me that look. That is what it is." Said her mother while conjuring a holo board.
Why did she use magic if a single holo-projector would be enough?
"Now...The first recorded use of [Idea] is from the dawn of creation. Our own studies into it suggest that a sapient being used this to communicate with [The world] and nudge it into creating the first vestiges of life." Said her mother while showcasing images of a primordial world.
How did she get those?
"Other studies suggest that it was [The world] awakening from its slumber and trying to communicate to [Other beings]." And so she put an image of a planet with some kindergarten-level drawing of hands trying to reach towards the stars.
"We sincerely don't know. What we do know is that in the advent of whatever tried to speak. What came were [Words of Power]." She said and at that, the room trembled.
Like the fabric of reality was trying to accommodate whatever her mother was saying.
"So I could just simply say something like:'My favorite Blajah plushy is alive.' And he would gain sentience?" Asked the blonde girl.
Her eyes were already planning some terrible things.
Only to get bonked in the head by a notebook that her mother materialized above her." Of course not. That would be silly." She said with a smirk.
"No one has that level of control nor power to do something like that." And she turned to the holoscreen and pointed to a picture that just had surfaced.
It was the picture of some kind of... Fish? It looked closer to a reptile if anything.
"This is what those things looked after around 10,000 years of living. Some nudges made by [Idea] here and there. And they would barely qualify as sentient, let's not talk about sapience." Answered her mother almost laughing.
That's rude, it was a totally valid question to ask!
"So...The evolution theory?" Asked the blonde girl.
"Heh, half-half. The worlds we used to sneak a peek on had more of a guided evolution brought in by the abuse of [Idea]." Said her mother showing a world with what looked to be a purple aura around it.
"So...How do I control it?" Said the blonde girl.
"Oh, that's easy. But first, we gotta understand how special you are!" Said her mother with a smile that brought chills to her spine.
