He got another call from Mother asking him to drop by.
That wasn't good, she hadn't called him back in quite a long time, the last time was to give him a surprise party for getting his current position. And if that wasn't an awkward party...He didn't know what would qualify as one. Either way, he didn't have any option but to go, Mother would get annoying to deal with if she thought he was ignoring her. The last thing he needed was her messing around in some way to make a confrontation happen, so after ending his current work he would go and pay a visit to that woman.
"[Thank you for your assistance Officer. I will leave this to you.]" He said to the pale man who was trying his best to not run away.
This one at least wasn't trying to arrest him, he could understand from where they came when they tried, but it still annoyed him, it wasn't a good look for his [Caste] that the one that was supposed to be an example of control was getting arrested...Not that the officers had any chance of succeeding, very few people could truly contain him. Thanks to Mother's insistence he had learned a skill that would make it almost impossible to contain him.
Not impossible, since true monsters walked this planet. He was sure at least a few of [The Twelve] had the means to contain him, albeit for some time. This didn't include Catherine or Jack of course, he wasn't sure how that man did what he did, but he always knew when he was near. And Catherine would probably just stuff him in a pocket plane and call it a day.
"I-I-It was a pleasure, sir..." Said the police Officer while stumbling his way and leaving a wide berth to him.
They always seemed to think that being near him while leaving would infect them or something, he didn't mind that of course, it was easier to keep his [Fame] this way, and it certainly made it easier in some aspects of his life. But it was still unnerving in some aspects, he had spent almost 10 years already in this area, living among the Zarevia populace. One would think they would get used to him already, but no. They still left him mostly alone, a few news channels would pester him from time to time for interviews, but beyond that nothing.
So he pretended not to notice and just searched for an empty alleyway to walk into. Once inside he used the stupid skill his Mother stuck him with, "[Shadow Delve]", and was once more surrounded by shadows. It was like the shadows wanted to devour him whole and then spit him out. He never could get used to the feeling. The world inside the shadows was a reflection of the real world, only instead of a sun in the sky, there was a blue moon. And the city was covered in a dark fog.
There was also the [Pull], but since he was ready for the pull, instead of being distracted he picked up one of the highways in this world covered by twilight and sped in the direction of his base. Without more than mere reflections of the inhabitants of the real world in his way he could travel using the full strength he was able to have, most of those reflections wouldn't be affected by him unless he started channeling his [Unique Skill] anyway, so he sometimes even used them as a springboard. Granted they would wake up with a migraine the next day...But it was a sacrifice he was willing to make.
After a few minutes of running nonstop, he picked up the telltale of his base in the distance, the bright blue mana dome keeping the shadows away and the building that was assigned to him by his boss. "Welcome back [Shadow Pact], you have 2 unread messages." Welcomed him back the AI assigned to him. As his form was pulled from the shadows, the shield worked both as a way to prevent the influence left by [The Stygian Bane] and to prevent other [Shadow] based powers from sneaking into his base.
"[Are both sent by Mother?]" Best to get that out of the way first. The AI seemed to know that since it answered "Indeed, do you want me to play them?"
