"Twinkleheart, are you really sure about venturing into a dimension on your own?"
It has been the morning since the foe had exited Equestria into a different world. Despite Twinkleheart's willingness to venture on her own, Pastel convinced her to at least report to Princess Twilight Sparkle before making irrational decisions leading to a possible death. So the duo went to Canterlot via train, where Princess Twilight, a purple alicorn with a blue, purple and pink mane, had just risen the sun, about to start the day with her morning duties which consisted of cooking up breakfast for her and her dragon assistant and Friendship Ambassador Spike, who was still asleep somewhere in the castle grounds.
Upon seeing the duo, Twilight sensed that something was wrong. As soon as Twinkleheart and Pastel approached her, Twilight teleported herself along with the duo to Twilight's private library, which had shelves filled with a lot of books, organized as usual. When Pastel finished the events that unfolded last night, and Twilight asking the question to Twinkleheart, Twinkleheart started.
"Yes, your majesty. I'm willing to do this alone. If Pastel were to enter into this 'dimension' with me, who knows what could happen there. She was able to discover mechanisms to defend Equestria from dark magic without relying on unicorn magic when she used to be your pupil, and I believe that it would be best if she were to stay and continue to do so. Also, no offense Pastel, but you're slower than me," Twinkleheart explained, ignoring an annoyed glance from Pastel.
Pastel sighed at Twinkleheart. "None taken, but did you really have to say it in front of Twilight?"
Twilight and Twinkleheart hid a chuckle before Twinkleheart continued. "Plus, we're the only ponies that know about this certain type of dark magic. If word got out, who knows what could happen, and you're busy with having to rule Equestria."
Twilight pondered for a moment. "You have a point, Twinkleheart. There aren't any successors that can take over Equestria if i'm gone, and Flurry Heart is already ruling the Crystal Empire alongside Princess Cadence. Not only that, but you have encountered this throughout most of your life without my or Pastel's knowledge."
"But then if you..." Pastel trailed off to Twinkleheart, but Twinkleheart knew what she was about to say.
"I wont," Twinkleheart reassured, giving a hug. "But if I do, then you can go and avenge me."
"Then it's settled," Twilight announced. "But, I think this might be useful."
Using her horn, Twilight pulled out two brown books with Twilight's 6-stared cutie mark engraved on it. "I used to communicate with one of my friends using this book to know what was going on in her world. I hope this would be useful to the both of you."
"Is that...?" Pastel asked curiously.
Twilight nodded back to her. "It has an ability to send messages to users and even receive them. Should there be no way back to Equestria, you can use this book at any time to communicate with her so you two won't be separated forever."
"You didn't tell me about this as your student!" Pastel exclaimed, intrigued as she intercepted Twilight's magic with hers, looking over the book. "I'll be sure to keep this in good condition."
"Well, most of which will be your writing, so it's not really in good condition," Twinkleheart teased to Pastel, before turning to Twilight. "But on a serious note, i'll be sure to note and send messages while i'm gone. Pastel and my other friends wouldn't be able to see me, nor would I see them, but I think it would keep me company if I ever go insane being alone."
"In that case, I shall now teleport you two back to the throne room, as I need to do more research about this type of magic," Twilight concluded, before using her horn. Before the duo were about to be teleported, Twilight added to Twinkleheart. "Good luck, Twinkleheart. You'll need it."

"You're 100% sure that you don't want to have me come with you?" Pastel asked, worried again as the duo arrived at the same pond that the thing entered from. Night had fallen in the Everfree, but with Pastel's dark purple illuminated horn, they were able to track the hoofprints back to the pond.
"Don't worry Pastel!" Twinkleheart replied, knowing that Pastel would come up with another anxiety-inducing question. "If Twilight was able to use the magic of Friendship in a world different to ours, then i'm sure I'll be able to eliminate the threat with whatever means possible."
For the first time in forever, Pastel finally felt comfort with her friend's words. They both embrace a hug, before Pastel whispers in Twinkleheart's ear, "stay safe, my friend."
"I will," Twinkleheart responded, before wearing a bag that she and Pastel prepared beforehand, and faced towards the pond. Hesitating for a split second, she plunges into the pond.
What neither Pastel nor Twinkleheart knew was that afterwards, the portal closed behind Twinkleheart, cutting off a possible connection to travel back to Equestria.

Flare sighed as she entered back into the dormitory. The sun was starting to set, so there was a orange-yellowish glow from her window, shining past her messy pink bed and a desk filled with pencils, notebooks, and a whole outlet dedicated to chargers. She plopped her bag down to the floor, creating a "pah" sound, before sitting into her seat next to her desk.
I can't believe this, Flare thought. Another possible failure on a different test. And I thought I studied well on it! Argh, it's my fault yet again! What did I do wrong yet again?
While dwelling on the test, Flare grabbed her sketchbook and flipped to the next empty page to draw just to get her mind off of it. She looked away to grab her mechanical pencil, only to look back and see the book... writing itself on cursive?
What in the... Flare thought as she reads the writing.
"I see that you are looking for something." The page said.
Curious, Flare wrote underneath the writing. "Who are you?"
As soon as she finished, the words faded, replaced with the sketchbook's response. "I have no name, no aliases, no nothing. I am more of... a guide for the weak. I see that you're struggling with something I presume?"
"How do you know? Also, do you mind if I call you Vienna?" Flare wrote.
"Of course." Vienna responds, before continuing. "We share the same thing. We both focus more on our pasts, underestimating our presents and fear the future. I've been in your shoes Flare. And I can help you, at least, not without a sacrifice. Starting with you entering into my domain."
Before Flare had a time to react, her right arm, which was placed on top of the paper, went through. She tried to pull her arm up, but the force was too great, strong enough that her arm, then her face, went through the notebook, all the while Flare let out a confused yelp as she unknowingly entered into the sketchbook.
"And thus, my game truly begins" Vienna writes as the sketchbook magically closed and fell right down on the desk. As it does, a faint laughter ensues.
"I wonder, how long will it take for her to be my final piece of my plan?"
