Theportion ChayeiSarah,meaning "TheLife of Sarah,"covers (Genesis 23:1–25:18). This becomes the first piece ofland owned by Abraham in Canaan, the land promised by YHVH.
Thenarrative continues with Abraham sending his servant to find a wifefor Isaac. Through prayer and providence, Rebekah is chosen at thewell and brought back as Isaac's bride. Abraham later marriesKeturah and fathers additional children, but he gives all hisinheritance to Isaac. Abraham dies at 175 years old and is buried byIsaac and Ishmael in the cave of Machpelah.
