Chapter 9

One his first day back, he was driving around just because he wanted to see around. It was his time back in 14 years so he just wanted to see around, and see what changed if anything did.

While he was driving he saw something

I swear I saw her, but I could be wrong. It's been so long since we saw each other and even spoke, so maybe i'm just imagining things. It's literally my first day back, I'm obviously going to have flashbacks every once in a while. Since he was just driving around, he did stop for a moment to look but he didn't stay too long. He just explored his hometown again. Since he's back practically forever, he wants to get used to his surroundings again.

Handes pov

I was walking with my son at the beach like we always do. When my heart started beating faster suddenly which almost never happened. I thought I saw something but by the time I looked again it disappeared. Something inside me told me, he's back. Even though we have nothing to do with each other, even 14 years later I still feel it. Who knows it might not have been him, I could imagine it. The last time his parents actually brought him up, they said he's probably never coming back unless there is an emergency.

In life, when you fall in love. No matter what happens and how long and what happened, love will always come back.

“Anne, i have a weird question”

“Yes son, i'm listening”

“It's about hande, i know i haven't talked or asked about her in many many years. But i saw something today and i was wondering about something”

“Of course, we actually were waiting for the day you asked  about her again since you're back home now. So since it's been so long and we still live in the same area plus we're still friends with them, it was only a matter of time that you guys saw each other somewhere again.”

“Neyse. Today I was driving along the beach and practically everywhere I went before I left again just to get the jist of where everything was again. I thought I saw her walking there, but I wasn't too sure and i didnt want to look like a creep stopping randomly and just staring. So i drove away, in the short time i look it might have been her”

‘It might actually have been because she also went abroad for a  few years over this time and also came back recently. It's been around 3 months since she came back and we didn't really think to tell you since you don't ask. So she's probably doing the same as you just going around”

“Alright so let me say what else I saw. When I saw her today, there was a little boy holding on to her. Do you know anything about it or not really?”

“I didn't think I ever needed to tell you this, and that whenever they come over the little one isn't always with her. That is her son, he's 2 years old. While she was abroad she met someone and that is basically all that explains it”

“I'm happy that she found someone and that she finally had the child she always spoke about. When I first moved away we spoke about it more often than not, so I'm glad there's someone out there that made her happy enough for her to trust enough to have a child.”

“Yes son, I'm glad for her too. And for you as well, you've taken a long time to get over it and now that you are finally over it, you're not even mad.”

They spoke for a while after that, about anything and everything until he was eventually tired. The next day he slept for almost the entire day straight. He didn't even realize that he was that tired but his parents let him do it.
