The morning sun spills through my windows, sating a warm glow over the room as I stand by the mirror, Elara, ever the attentive maid, is at my side, her fingers working deftly through my hair. "You must look your best today, my lady." she says, her voice as soft as the silk of my gown. I can't help but smile at her earnestness, feeling the gentle tug of braids being woven with care.

The gown that was chosen for me is a vision of elegance, hugging my figure in all the right places. It's fabric is a soft chiffon that whispers against my skin with every movement I make. The color, a deep emerald green, compliments my eyes making them stand out. Intricate lace work adorns the sleeves and hem, adding a touch of grace.

As I admire the dress in the mirror, the way it sways and catches the light, I feel like a character from one of those fairytales.

Elara, with a gentle smile placed the final pin in my hair and stepped back to admire her work. "There my lady, you look truly radiant." she whispered.

"Thank you," I reply. "You have really outdone yourself." As I take a final glance into the mirror, I felt a surge of confidence. I take a deep breath, and we made out way towards the ballroom, the sound of the music and laughter growing louder.

The excitement grows within me as I take my first steps into the epulent space, filled with the glittering light of chandeliers and the vibrant colors of the guests' attire.

Every eye turns toward us, their expressions a mix of admiration and curiosity. The orchestra's melody swells. I catch glimpses of smiles and hear snippets of laughter.

Elara, by my side squeezes my hand, her presence a comfortable anchor. As we glide through the throng of dancers, the air is scented with a blend of roses and fresh pine from garlands that drape the walls. Elara and I pause for a moment, taking it all in. Every year, we have a special event in the ballroom to celebrate the unity and prosperity of our kingdom. It's a time when people from all walks of life come together no matter the class - to honor our shared history. The celebration is filled with lively music, food, and captiving performances that showcase the talents of our people.

"Can you believe it? Everything feels like a fairytale!" she exclaimed. I couldn't help but smile at my maids infectious enthusiasm. Her eyes sparkled with eagerness as she spotted a group of maids, their laughter filling the air. "I'm going to say hi." she told me, gracefully gliding towards them.

I shook my head, smiling. Feeling relieved that she gets the chance to have fun and forget about her duties for the night.

Deciding to venture further into the grand ballroom my curiosity led me to explore its hidden corners. I couldn't resist the allure of the ornate decorations and enchanting music. Lost in the sea of elegant gowns and dapper suits, my eyes darted around, taking in the splendor of the room.

Amidst the twirling dancers, I found myself unexpectedly colliding with someone. Startled, I stumbled back, my cheeks flushing with embarrassment. God, way to make a fool out of yourself.

I looked up to meet the gaze of a captivating stranger. Their eyes dark, but a mischievous played on his lips.

" I'm so sorry." I blurt out, brushing off my dress.

"No harm done. I'm Keiran." he introduces himself. "And you are?"

"Aurelia" I replied. My voice barely above a whisper. Keiran's smile widens. "Aurelia, pleasure to bump into you. May I have the honor of this dance." he asked, extending his hand out towards me. My cheeks warmed as I placed my hand into his. "I'd love to."

As Keiran led me to the dance floor, his hand felt warm in mine. The orchestra struck up a slow tune, perfect for a dance between two strangers. He placed his other hand on my waist guiding me into the dance moves with confidence, yet tender ease. We began to move together, the world around us blurting into a haze of colors and sounds. I could feel every subtle shift in his movement, every gentle pull of his hands.

As we twirled and swayed I became aware of how lacky I was on dancing. Definitely gotta opt. in on more lessons. Maybe Elara is able to give me some tips.

When the music finally slowed and our steps came to a stop, we stood there, slightly breathless, still holding onto each other.

"Thank you for the lovely dance, Aurelia." Keira said, pulling away his voice holding a hint of gratitude.

"Thank you, Kieran." I managed to say, between harsh breathes, my heart thumping. Gee, who knew dancing could make it hard to breathe? "Goodnight."

We said our goodbyes and I watched him walk away smiling. Okay, I need a drink of water.
