Y/n pov

As spring beings to unfurl its vibrant colours across National City, i've found myself practically living at Kara's place, our relationship impossibly growing stronger with each passing day. But there's a part of me that longs to share a piece of my world with her, to let her into the sanctuary that is my childhood home.

So onde day, i decide to take her there, to the tranquil haven where i've always found solace and peace amidst the chaos of life. Well, all until this winter when i almost died. Kara suggest flying, her excitement palpable, but i insist that we take the boat, wanting her to experience the journey in tis entirety.

As we glide across the water, the sun painting the sky in hues of pink and gold, i can't help but feel a sense of contentment wash over me. I show her around the island, point out the hidden coves and secret tails, each one a piece of my heart that i'm sharing with her.

We sit beneath the shade of a sprawling oak tree, the gentle greeze carrying the scent of wildflowers and saltwater. And as i open up to her about my mother, about why this place means so much to me, she listens with a compassion and understanding that fills me with gratitude.

She reaches out, her hand finding mine in a silent gesture of support. And in that moment, i know that she's not just my girlfriend, she's my rock, my confidence, my everything. I was so stupid for being so scared before.

As night falls and the stars twinkle overhead, casting their celestial light upon us, we stay up late outside, wrapped in blankets and each other's warmth.

Kara gazes up at the sky, her eyes reflecting the myriad of stars above. "Tell me about your mom," she says softly, her voice a gentle prompt.

I take a deep breath, the memories flooding back as i speak. "My mom was the most amazing and kindest person i've ever known." I being, a wistful smile tugging at my lips. "She loved this island almost as much as she loved me. It became her sanctuary when i was sick, her escape from the world. And she shared that with me every time. That's why there's two headstones out there, one for my mom and one for my dad who never left her side until he died."

Kara listens intensity, her eyes never leaving mine as i recount tales of childhood adventures and late-night stargazing sessions with my mother.

As we sit beneath the oak tree, the gentle breeze carrying the scent of the ocean, Kara's gaze drifts upward towards the star-filled sky. I've seen her do that many times but not until now do i realise why. I watch her for a moment, marvelling at the way her eyes light up with a mixture of longing and nostalgia.

"Tell me about Krypton," i prompt softly, my voice barely above a whisper against the backdrop of waves hitting the shore.

Kara's expression softens, a bittersweet smile playing at the corners of her lips. "Krypton was... different," she begins, her voice tinged with emotion. "It was a world of wonders, with technology far beyond anything you could imagine. But it was also rigid, governed by tradition and hierarchy."

As she speaks, i can sense the weight of her memories, the complexities of a world long lost. I reach out, my hand finding hers in a silent gesture of support.

"Tell me more," i urge gently, wanting to understand the depths of her past. As she now does mine.

Kara takes a deep breath, her gaze turning distant as she recalls the sights and sounds of her home planet. "The landscapes were breathtaking," she continues, her voice filled with reverence. "Endless fields of crystalline formations, shimmering under the light of the twin runs. And the cities... they were like worlds of art, soaring towers of glass and steel that reached toward the heavens."

I listen in awe as Kara patinas a vivid picture of her world, her words laced with a mixture of pride and sorry. She speaks of the rich history and culture of Krypton, the traditions passed down through generations.

"But it wasn't perfect," she adds, a note of sadness creeping into her voice. "There were divisions, inequalities... and eventually, there was destruction."

I squeeze her hand gently, offering her what little comfort I can. "I'm sorry," I say softly, my heart aching for the pain she must carry.

Kara meets my gaze, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you," she whispers, her voice thick with emotion.

As we sit together beneath the stars, sharing stories of our pasts, I feel a profound sense of connection with Kara. In that moment, beneath the vast expanse of the night sky, I know that our love transcends time and space, binding us together in a bond that cannot be broken.

And as we watch the stars twinkle overhead, lost in the beauty of the moment, I realise just how lucky I am to have found someone as extraordinary as Kara.
