I layed in bed just staring at the wall. When I heard a knock on my door.
"Hey," Mom walked in.
"Have you heard anything?" I sat up wiping the tears off my face.
"When I last talked to Ellen, he was going into a CAT scan. He's going to be ok," She tried to tell me.
But what if it's not? He crashed that stupid fucking motorcycle and it's my fault. "You don't know that," I told her.
"Can we talk about it?" Like I'm not going through 3857859 different things right now.
"You and Dad, or the fact that my boyfriend got into a motorcycle accident?" I asked ready to ball my eyes out again. "Either. Both,"
"I just want to go to sleep,"
"Ok, that's fair. I love you,"
"Love you too," I said so quietly I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't hear me.
I just can't stop thinking about when I found out. I saw Ellen, Clint, and Max all run outside and Mom on the phone.
The words came out of her mouth and I completely lost it. Marcus got into an accident. The words replayed in my head over and over.
It was my fault I shut him out. I should've just let him in my room and I would be crying about my parents with him instead I'm crying about him.
Then I hear a car door close outside my window. Almost falling face first trying to get up.
I saw him getting out of the car with his mom. And almost cried again seeing him right there alive. He was walking and there were bruises all across his face. He ended up looking over and I waved at him.
He looked at me for a couple of seconds then just walked into his house. Was me shutting him out deeper than I thought?
*At School*
Max was telling us about the details of this horrific incident. "He took a corner too fast and slid off the road. So now he has a concussion," Max finished.
"Oh my God, that is, like, so scary," Abby commented.
"I had a concussion once when I went skiing. It was the worst. Did he blackout? Throwup?" I don't know how long I could listen to this.
"Do the hokey pokey? Turn himself around? Yeah, he got the whole fun concussion grab bag," She told her.
"But he'll be fine, right?" Was the first thing I said during this whole conversation.
"He should be back to normal but it could take a few months, so. It's just so stupid. Why would he ride his bike?" I noticed Ginny start to uncomfortable when she asked, "He doesn't even have his license or know how to ride. He could've been killed. What would possess him to do that? I blame toxic masculinity," I blame my stubbornness.
"Why?"
"I...I don't know,"
Sophie came over and started to comfort Max. I tried texting Marcus...again since he got back from the hospital. There has got to be some other reason as to why he's ignoring me. Something is missing from the bigger picture.
Ginny's POV
I got in the car since Mom was picking me up from work. "We don't...we don't have to go home. We could just drive off, start a new life," I offered not knowing if I was joking or thinking about doing it.
"I taught you well," Mom just told me.
"Does Paul know about Zion?" I asked her
"Do Y/N and Hunter know about Marcus?" She retorted. I thought I was hiding it well, "You like him," reading like a book but won't ever admit it.
