Tim and Lucy have been dating for two years and Lucy has started to hint at marriage. This has been the longest relationship that she has been in and knows that Tim is the one for her. Even though she was not sure about it in the beginning, she has realized that Tim is different than anyone else that she has ever been with. He is caring and respectful. They had their bumps in the road but they have always worked through it.
Tim on the other hand is not picking up on the hints that Lucy is showing. He wants to propose to her but he still needs to get the ring. He also wants to make sure that she is fully ready for this. He decides before roll call that he is going to talk to Grey about it since he has been like a father figure to him.
"Hey Grey. Can I talk to you about something?"Tim said.
"Sure. Let's go to my office," he responded.
"How did you know it was time to propose to Luna?"
"She was giving off signs. She kept on showing me rings that she liked and kept on showing me wedding venues. How did you know it was time to propose to Isabelle?"
"She gave the same signs. I know I should know this but I messed up with Isabelle and I do not want to mess it up with Lucy. I do not know if she is ready. She is not giving signs."
"I will ride with her and see what I can figure out. I will let you know through text. If she is, I do not want to mess it up."
They leave to go to roll call and Grey assigns everyone their job. Lucy and Grey start on their patrol. Normally Grey does not allow personal life in the shop but he promised Tim he would find out for him.
"Lucy. When are you and Bradford ever getting married? I have been waiting for the news of engagement for the last 3 months."
"I thought he was going to propose but he hasn't yet. I have been giving signs that I am ready. I have been looking at rings and talking to Tamara about it."
They finish their shift and Grey texts Tim.
Tim Bradford:
G:She is ready son. She thought you were going to already.
T:Ok. Can I have tomorrow off so I can get a ring?
G:Yes. Of course. Good luck
The next day Tim goes to the Jewelry shop to find the perfect ring for her. The problem is that they all look the same to him so he messages Angela for help. When she got there, they find the perfect one.
He decided that he is going to propose tonight since it is already date night and she will not suspect anything. He made a reservation at the restaurant that they had their first date.

T: Date night?
L: Yes!!! What time?
T: 7:00. I will pick you up at 6:30
L: Ok. Love you
T: Love you too
Tim is about to leave to pick up Lucy. He is so nervous. He wants this to be perfect for Lucy. He gets to her apartment and she is in this beautiful green dress. He helped her get in his truck and started to drive to the restaurant. When they got there, Tim signed in and Lucy was surprised that he made a reservation for date night. They sat down at ordered their drink and meal.
"Lucy. You look gorgeous."
"Thank you. You look handsome yourself."
"Thank you."
They continued to talk till their food arrived. They ate and Tim paid the bill. Lucy was kind of disappointed that he did not propose.
"Do you want to go on a walk on the beach?" Tim asked.
"That sounds amazing."
They got to the beach and they were walking for a little. Lucy was a few steps ahead which helped Tim with his plan. They were talking and Tim stopped as he got down on one knee. Lucy did not notice at first.
"Babe. Turn around."
When she turned around she saw him on one knee with this gorgeous ring.
"I know you have been waiting for this and I am sorry that I did not do this sooner. I wanted to make sure it was perfect for you. I have loved you since the day that I laid eyes on you. I can not imagine my life without you in it. So, Lucy Chen, will you marry me?"
"YESSS!!!"
Tim put the ring on her finger and kissed her. They finished their walk and headed home. Lucy could not have imagined it better.
