I hurried out bed and made my way to the bathroom for a refreshing shower. After getting dressed and slipping on my shoes, I exited the room to join the group.
As we all piled into one van, I found myself seated behind everyone with Gordon, trying to keep up with the lively chatter and laughter filling the vehicle during the ride.
As I immersed myself in my playlist, swaying to the rhythm of the music I noticed Gordon attempting to find some peace amidst the laughter of Dallas and Ian. Sensing his need for quiet, I decided to share my earbuds with him,
Without looking directly at him, I handed him one earbud, and I stole a glance as he slowly placed it in his ear. Turning my gaze towards the window, I watched the children playing happily in the playground,
Feeling Gordon lean his head on my shoulder and wrap one arm around mine, I could feel the rhythmic thumping my heart, almost as if he could hear its beat against my chest.
