You yawned and stretched as you lay on your bed and hugged your plushy. It had been a long day for you and all you wanted was to relax. You already rewarded the person who created the game with three weeks visa because it did excite you, but you punished everyone else for giving you an ace level.
What can you say, everyone knows you're smart so there's no reason why they should give you the lowest level. You closed your eyes and pondered on the question of what you should do next.
The players in the Borderland had already beaten half of the games and all of the Game Masters were preparing for the final level but you haven't even started your preparations. You opened your eyes and reached for your drawer to grab a red folder sealed with a Joker coin.
"Let's see, Queen of Hearts is doing a Croquet. A game where it will only end when a player finishes three games." You smirked as you knew what Mira's intentions were. "She's just going to delay the game until the player loses their mind. Mira is the queen of manipulating after all."
You flipped the page and you were amused with what the King of Diamonds had set up.
"Balance scale, interesting. He wants everyone to have an equal chance, make sense considering his past. Getting poured by acid doesn't sound fun though."
A certain blonde reminded you of how similar he was to Kuzuryu, the King of Diamonds.
"Osmosis for King of Clubs, now that's very interesting. Throughout the years their teamwork had been undefeatable thanks to their leader Kyuma. He has weird taste on his clothing though."
Your eyes sparkled after flipping the page.
"Risa the Queen of Clubs, now she's a badass. I wouldn't want to be in her game Checkmate as I wouldn't last five minutes running. Although I would want to be on her side."
You continued flipping the page and scoffed when you saw King of Spades final plan.
"Maybe I should copy him, have the whole Borderlands as your game arena. Although that would be tiring, and I can't be bothered hunting the players. Solitary confinement for Jack of Hearts, so he's basing it off on Imposter, but his identity is more secured as everyone will need to find someone whom they can trust. Sneaky sneaky."
You were glad that you're not the only one who haven't started your preparations yet but at least you kind of got some ideas from those who are almost finished.
"Now what would I want my game to be and what rules should I put? If I create a game, what would be my purpose." You stared at the ceiling and started thinking but when you couldn't think of anything, you just sighed and slept.
"Master!" You bolted up as soon as you heard Haru's voice, and you groggily looked at him.
"What do you want?" You asked, a hint annoyance on your voice.
"The Joker wants you to join the Beach citizen." Haru replied and you rubbed your eyes while processing what he just said.
The Joker is the highest rank in the Management. He was the leader of the Game Masters and is the mastermind of the Borderland. He alone created everything and is the genius who made everything possible.
"He wants me to what now?" You asked as you stared at Haru.
"Join the citizen of-"
"Yes I know but why? Aren't Mira and Kuzuryu already there? Why does he need me too." You questioned.
You find the Joker unpredictable as he sends instructions that sometimes doesn't make sense but of course you have to follow. No one really knows the gender of the Joker, so you just assumed he was a guy since Joker from Batman was a guy.
At first the Joker wanted to put all the difficulties out in the Borderland including the faced cards, meaning players had to worry about their visa expiring and looking out for the King of Spade at the same time, but after Hatter founded Utopia and assumed that collecting all the cards would send one person at a time back in the real world, the Joker changed its mind and went with that plan instead.
If you got an order to join the Beach, then the Joker has a plan, but you just don't know what plan or why. You just have to go with it.
"Who knows? Maybe sending Mira and Kuzuryu isn't enough for the Joker's goal? No one really knows but I guess you need to make preparations." Haru stated and you sighed in defeat.
You let yourself fall on the bed and with a big sighed, you told Haru what to do and you prepared yourself mentally.
"This is going to be so annoying." You complained. "But on the bright side, I won't have to deal with the Game Dealers here."
As you turned on the bed and hugged your plushy, you remembered one thing in the Beach. A certain blonde who had taken your interest and you smirked as you thought that going there will make things more interesting in your life.
"He'll be the only one I'll be looking forward to."
The day had come when you had to go to the Beach. You didn't take any cards with you to secure a rank like Mira and Kuzuryu as you wanted to lay low, but you did take your plushy with you.
No point in taking weapons because they will collect it anyway and you wore your favorite swimsuit on top of your clothes, so you don't need to wear random swimsuits when you are there.
"You know you can just give them some cards and secure your spot on the high ranks so you can choose your own swimsuit and not wear a very revealing one." Haru commented and you just shrugged it off.
"This swimsuit is fine, it's perfect for me." You said and Haru took a peek from his shoulder then immediately looked away.
"You shouldn't wear this Master, lots of guys will target you." Haru retorted and you smiled a little bit from his protective personality.
"What are you, my brother? My dad? I will wear anything I want thank you very much and if some guys do target me, I can handle myself." You assured him and you heard him muttering something, but you didn't quite hear it properly.
"Guess I have to go with you after all."
"You don't need to do that."
"Well, I do treat you as my little sister so technically I can become your brother so I'm gonna have to protect you from those hungry eyes rapist guys."
You stared at Haru for a moment as you recalled his history. He works at a small company 24/7, no parents or siblings and he often gets bullied or overwork at his job, but he never complained. Even though he was the best at his work, those people around him would often abuse him and make him pay for their meals.
You don't know how he ended in the Borderlands, so you just assumed that it was the stress and depression he felt from his work was the reason he got teleported.
He's a really good guy, everyone has their breaking point at some point
