I drove the car as fast as I could. Shayantika was panicking. I guess she loves her cat more than anything. As we reach her home I stand outside. my kitten runs inside her home. Aunty opens the door She says Shayantika's cat is in her room as she runs upstairs I get in the house *Is her cat dead?* I ask Aunty. She simply nods with a slight sadness in her face. "Beta sit down I will bring something for you to eat." *NO need I am here to calm her down, as she is broken.* I then walk upstairs. and see Shayantika crying a sobbing mess holding her dead cat's body in her hands. Her best friend sitting next to her. "I will bring water for you Shayantika wait!" as her best friend leaves I sit beside her. and pull her towards me as she leans in my chest. I hug her and pat her head.. "How can she leave me? it isn't poss...i.ble" her voice breaks at the last part.
As Sobs breaks free.. *It's fine, I am always there for you. There are always ups and downs in life you gotta cope up with it. cuummon let's give her peace for her next life ok?* she nods slowly tears slipping down her beautiful eyes are making my heart crash. I held her hand *I slowly walked with her hand and took her downstairs. and then to the backyard of her house. there was a shovel I scooped up some soil from the garden and motioned her to place her cat in it. "no I won't" she shook her head. *Shayantika don't act foolish if you bury ur cat now it will be able to be in peace its entire life.* I say her.
she places her cat in the soil and cries. I put soil on top of the dead animal and neat the soil smoothly and planted a tree on top of the soil which was a jasmine flower tree.. after I finished my task. I keep the shovel aside.I take Shayantikas hand and make her stand *Its ok stop crying now...common. wanna have ice cream?* She pouted and then nodded with a little teary eyes . I wipe her tears off with my thumb. and cup her face with my hands and place a small peck on her forehead. I take her hand and walk towards my car waiting outside. The driver was in the car. *Mr. Carlton move to the nearest ice cream parlor.* I order him as I and Shayantika settle in the back seats.. She stopped crying "How do you know I like ice cream?"
I smile at her question *When I was young, I had a best friend she was a girl and whenever she used to be sad I used to give her ice cream and her mood immediately got better so I thought maybe it would fix ur mood too* nostalgic and tragedy hitting me... "Where is she now?" Shayantika asks me *She left me I don't know where she is but I lost her.* "I am so sorry.."
*It's not your fault kitten* I say. "Sir we are here " I nod, get out, and open the door of Shayantikas side. She got out. As we got into the restaurant I ask Shayantika *what ice cream flavor do u like? Wait lemme guess Vanilla with strawberry syrup and chocolate chips on top?* "O my God how the hell do u know it exactly how I like it.?" she asked amused *It is what it is* I say flexing. and sit at a table with Shayantika in front of me. The waiter comes takes both of our orders and leaves.
"You know when my parents got me this cat I was 12. I was a little ill at that time due to a disease or something so to fix my condition my parents got me, Fiona. She was a absolute sweetheart and always stayed by my side whenever I had bad times." I was listening to her understanding her pain.. Then the waiter came with two tubs of icecream one tub smaller one bigger. I gave the big ice cream tub to Shayantika with vanilla flavor ice cream strawberry syrup and chocolate chips on top. I get a mint chocolate chip. She was confused by seeing a larger tub. *All your kitten have it.* I assure her. She seemed happy she smiled and scooped up the ice cream and took a big chunk in. "Mmm oh how I love ice cream!!"
