Shayantika's POV:

As I drove home, the weight of my mistakes felt almost unbearable. The angry words from my father replayed in my mind like a broken record. "You are nothing except a failure." Each repetition seemed to pierce deeper, turning my anxiety into a physical ache.

The phone buzzed again, and I saw Subha's name flashing on the screen. I hesitated for a moment, my fingers trembling as I answered. "Hello?" she said, her voice laced with concern. I struggled to keep my sobs at bay, but they escaped in ragged breaths.

"Shayani, what happened?" Subha's voice grew more urgent, sensing the distress.

"I... fu...cked up," I managed to choke out between sobs. My words barely made it through the tears. "I fucking slapped my business partner, and now he's declined all the deals and projects with our company..."

There was a stunned silence on the other end before Subha's voice cut through, tinged with confusion and frustration. "Why the fuck did you slap him?"

I took a deep breath, trying to steady my shaking voice. "I didn't know he was my business partner. He yelled at me because I hit his car, and I just... lost it."

"I see," Subha said slowly. "You need to explain everything to your father properly. I'm sure he'll understand once he knows the whole story."

"Okay," I said, trying to hold back the tears. I wiped my cheeks with the back of my hand, hoping the redness would fade before I reached home. "Thanks, Subha. I'll talk to him."

As I continued driving, I could feel my heartbeat in my throat, and the road ahead seemed to stretch endlessly. I clung to the idea that I might be able to salvage this mess, but the crushing realization of my actions weighed heavily on me.

Subha's words were a small comfort in this storm of regret and fear. She was the one person who could always make me feel a little better, even when things seemed dire. I just hoped that my father would listen to me and understand, or at least give me a chance to explain before the full force of his disappointment hit me.

Finally, as I pulled into the driveway, I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the confrontation that awaited inside. With a mixture of dread and determination, I stepped out of the car and walked towards the front door, hoping for a chance to make things right.
