Grace's POV
Dusk came back with a glass of water for me to drink, I thanked him and slowly drank it.
"My dad's still sleeping?" He nodded.
"What time is it?"
He pulled out his phone. "11:25"
"You hungry?"
"Kinda am, I thought I would drop your house for about 10 minutes then head back home and eat breakfast."
"Wanna make brunch?" I asked a little excited, hope he didn't catch on to that.
"Hmm yeah sure, but we need to get you fixed up first." he gestured to my feet and both of our eyes widened.
I was bleeding a good amount of blood from my cuts.
"Do you have a first aid kit?"
"I guess there should be one in my dad's bathroom."
"Where is that?"
"First floor, second room to your left."
He nodded and went into the house again. I sighed and took out my phone. I noticed I got a text from both Emma and Casey in our group chat asking how I was doing and I wondered why they would text that and after a split second I realized why and I paused. I had totally forgotten about the break up until I saw their message. Wow, okay. I replied back to them that I was doing better, and updated the same to my other group chat with Lara and Camila. By then Dusk came back.
"Well I found Band-Aid, anti-bacterial wipes and some cream which read in the label that it helps cuts." and he kneeled down and I chuckled. With the wipes he cleaned my cuts, it stung a lot when he gently wiped away the blood and dirt but I made sure not to let out any sound. "Gimme your finger." He said as he squeezed the tube, I quickly placed my finger under the tube and the cream landed on top of my finger. After a good amount was placed he stopped, "Okay now rub it on the wounds." I did as I was told, then he wrapped the band aid around it a little tight. "Okay it's go make brunch!" he said joyfully and I followed him inside the house.
He opened the fridge and sticked his head in, "Now what do we have here?"
"Now might be a good time to tell you I can't cook."
"Okay." he said not moving.
After a while of analyzing the fridge he took out the ingredients to make noodles... I guess.
"So what are we making today chef?"
"We will be making spaghetti and meatballs!" Ahh.
"How can I help?"
I guess for the first time in my life I actually enjoyed the process of making a good meal. Dusk was a good guide, he knew what he was doing. And in between here and there our hands or shoulders would brush against each other and that made me giddy inside.
"Hmmm, that smells good!" dad said as he walked in.
"Good afternoon dad." I beamed.
He looked at me shocked but got interrupted when Dusk greeted him, "Noon, Mr. Silver. Hope you don't mind we took over your kitchen."
"Not at all." dad said as he sat on the stool near the counter.
"Slept well dad?" I asked.
"Yup! Can't remember the last time I slept through the morning."
"Good, I am glad to hear that."
"Guess I needed to blow off some steam as well."
I smiled at him.
