ZAIN ZAFFAR'S POV:
Wednesday, April 8thIt's now the first official week of my school life. I wonder what it's like to have five school days, all lined up. Thus, finding out will be a relaxing turn of events. But I suppose I've gotten a taste of it last week, even though it was a Wednesday when I arrived.
I pondered upon my meaning here. Was it either pure chance, or maybe something else? This leads me to question a certain concept that I've been thinking about for a while...
Does fate exist? If so, does free will triumph over fate?
Many will question their destiny and leave themselves to their demise, never becoming aware of their own actions. Resigning to fate is an easy way out. No, it's simply living life on cruise control and letting outside factors dictate the rest of your life.
I, for one, disagree with that way of living. I will not let others rule over my life. I prefer to make my own future. Through my actions, I will carve a path towards my goals. But I still can't help but wonder... In a never-ending war between fate and free will, I still wonder if there's a middle ground, where one will eventually dominate the other.
That being said, my time at this school will give me the answer I've been longing for. Let's see if some events are unavoidable, or prone to my fate defying will...
Today marks 1 week since we first arrived to the school, and as informed earlier, we would be having our first swimming lessons today.
Someone was clearly excited...
"Good morning, Yamauchi!"
"Good morning, Ike!"
It was strange to see those two so early. In the one week that has passed since the entrance ceremony, those two were always the last ones to enter the classroom.
"Wow, the lesson's so fun that I couldn't sleep last night!"
"Yeah, this school is the best! Swimming is going to start soon! I say swimming, but girls are the important part! And by girls I mean their swimsuits!" Yamauchi said excitedly.
Certainly, swimming is taught to both boys and girls. In other words, Horikita, Kushida, and all the other girls will be wearing swimsuits... and their skin becomes visible. The girls in the room backed away from Ike & Yamauchi's excitement.
The time for PE slowly approached as we finished English class with Mashima-sensei. Luckily, we already received our swimsuits over the weekend. The school delivered them to our rooms very easily.
Since the bell already rang, our PE time had already started. Many would think that it's an issue, but the gym teacher usually gives us 5-10 minutes to arrive.
Traditionally, it's the teachers that need to arrive on time for our classes. But for PE, the students have to travel and arrive at the next class on time. I'm surprised that Chabashira-sensei doesn't mind the late arrivals from PE.
Now that I think about it, this will be our first PE class in terms of physical training. Today, I can be active. While it's only swimming, this might be my chance to maintain my figure. For now at least. PE should be a temporary solution to my long-term problem of neglecting workouts.
Walking past the crowd of students, I arrived at the boy's locker room. Moving towards our assigned lockers, I noticed that my locker was right next to Akito Miyake's locker - a boy in my class who had joined the archery club.
I had talked to him a couple of times during and after school, but haven't really gotten around to knowing him on a personal level. He seems like a good enough guy, though.
