Serial Arsonist

I dreamt of red eyes every night for a week.

Every day I looked at my phone, typing in a message to Katsuki, then swiftly deleted it. Ever since he'd texted me that day, I'd been agonising over whether to text him, culminating in an almost-accidentally-sent rambling message about the restaurant Taishiro had taken me to. After that, I just thumbed a quick 'hey' every day before deleting it.

I was considering sending such a message just before the end of my break, interrupted as the Chief entered with a grim look on his face.

"You're with me this afternoon." He ordered, nodding towards the exit. "We have a meeting at the Police Station."

I felt my heart pound. The city Police only brought us in if there was an arson case.

When I was off my break, Aizawa drove us across town to the Sakasu St. Police Station, where a familiar dark-haired woman was waiting for us at the entrance.

"Kirishima, Chief Aizawa." Momo said formally. "I am Sergeant Yaoyorozu. Please follow me."

The Sergeant led us into the building, where we collected guest ID passes and were taken up to a meeting room. Several people waited inside, including Captain Todoroki of Station 11. Momo led us to the table where we took our seats - the seat beside me was empty, and Aizawa sat beside a blonde man in a bomber jacket. His attire was much more informal than the rest of the Police presence, complete with a pair of gold-tinted sunglasses perched on his fluffy hair.

"We're just waiting for the Detectives on this case." A canary-blonde man of diminished stature said from the front of the room. "Ah- here they are."

I turned my head to see two familiar people enter the room. One, Fumikage, from Denki's band. The other, the heterochromatic man from the park, Shoto Todoroki. The former smiled as he took the seat further from me, while Shoto paused to glare at the Fire Captain smoldering in the corner of the room. A moment passed between them before the younger man took the seat beside me.

Hang on...Todoroki...

Could Shoto and the Captain be related?

"Thank you all for coming on such short notice." The man at the front announced. "Most of you already know me, but for those I haven't yet met: I am Captain Toshinori Yagi. As the number one here, I thought it best to run this meeting myself."

He pressed a button, causing the projector to flicker on. The screen showed a photograph of ashes, presumably from the recent office building fire.

"What you can see here is the remains of a hastily-produced incendiary device. The device itself was mostly destroyed, apart from this piece," He pointed to a jagged shard of metal surrounded by charred fabric. "Which leads us to believe we are dealing with amateurs."

He changed the display to a photograph from the outside of the building, showing the damaged remains of the office.

"Evidence from this location, as well as several other smaller incidents, implies that we are dealing with a serial arsonist. We haven't been able to tie the attacks together, however, we have a plan to do that. Lieutenant Takami?"

The casually dressed blonde lounged back in his chair. "I've been on undercover work dealing with a nasty crime syndicate called AFO. I'm not in yet, but I'm real close." His voice was smooth and confident, which matched his relaxed demeanour. "I have reason to believe this arsonist is employed by them, so I'll be feeding back information to Sergeant Yaoyorozu once I find it."

"Chief Aizawa, Captain Todoroki," Captain Yagi called, looking carefully at the two men. "You were both on site at the recent incident. Do you have anything to add?"
