Graduation

Graduation day came around sooner than I realised. Just a few weeks after, I'd be moving into my apartment with Katsuki, and I'd finally be free of my Mom's control.

Or so I thought.

Everything was going as well as it could be as I got ready at home. Mom seemed to be in a good mood as she accompanied me to the school, saying a tearful goodbye as she headed towards the guest seating. As she left, I noticed two familiar men appear from the school gates, heading straight towards the gym - the two men from the football game. I knew I didn't have time to follow them, but I made a mental note to let a teacher know about their presence.

I went straight to my homeroom, where my classmates all waited in their matching formal attire. Katsuki greeted me with a grin from where he leaned against his desk, giving me a quick up-and-down glance.

"Hey, handsome." I chirped, perching beside him on his desk.

"You look..." He devoured me with his eyes again. "Fuck."

"Keep it in your pants." I hissed jokingly, nodding at our approaching teacher.

"We'll be heading into the auditorium for the ceremonies now." Sasaki-Sensei confirmed, gesturing for us to follow. We walked single-file towards the auditorium, where we were seated with our peers. The ceremonies dragged on, and I grew increasingly uncomfortable with my knowledge of the two suspicious men on school grounds.

I should have told Sensei before we came here. I thought.

Still, I managed to make it through the ceremonies without a panic, meeting up with my Mom outside the building after it was finished. Katsuki accompanied me, his arm looped around my waist. My Mom gave him a nasty look as she approached.

"Eijiro, can we take a photograph?"

"Sure, Mom."

Katsuki didn't move away, his arm firm around my waist. My Mom had handed her camera off to another parent, before turning back and meeting Katsuki with a steely glare. Still, she didn't make a scene as the photographer snapped a picture, returning the camera to my Mom.

"I'm so proud of you, Eijiro." She cooed, putting on her best impression of a doting parent. "Soon you'll be off to college! Have you found out about your dorm assignment yet?"

I grinned. "No, not yet." I lied. I hadn't told her about the plan to move in with Katsuki, thinking she'd prevent it from happening.

"Well," She continued, sparing a glance at the blonde. "I'm sure you'll get on just fine. I'll bring the car around if you're ready to go."

"Actually, I'll meet you at home." I laughed. "I want to say goodbye to everyone properly."

My mother pursed her lips but didn't say a word, disappearing into the crowd without even acknowledging my boyfriend.

"She's a bundle of fun." Katsuki huffed, dragging me towards the group. It was his first time actually meeting her, after dating for over a year. "Remind me never to suggest your family for holidays."

I laughed and followed him towards our friends. We chatted for a while before Katsuki remembered he'd left something in his locker in the gym, and darted off. The mention of the gym reminded me of the strange men I'd seen lurking, and panic immediately set in.

I considered speaking to a teacher, but Katsuki was already halfway to the gym. If they did something before I got there...I couldn't hesitate. I had to at least go with him. I quietly excused myself and sprinted in the direction of the gym building.

Katsuki had already let himself in when I arrived, pushing open the door cautiously. Every step into the building I expected someone to jump out, but even in the dimly-lit gymnasium I couldn't hear or see anything strange.
