What is Life?
Third Person
Alessandro's heart raced as he burst into Heaven's room, his gun drawn, ready to protect her from any danger. But instead, he found her tangled in the sheets, her face contorted in a mix of fear and pain. He quickly realized she was trapped in a nightmare.
"Heaven, Heaven, babe, wake up! You're having a nightmare," Alessandro whispered urgently, shaking her gently.
At first, she didn't respond, her body thrashing about as if trying to escape some unseen terror. But Alessandro persisted, his voice soft and soothing, his hands rubbing her arms and shoulders in a calming motion.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Heaven's eyes flickered open. She gazed around the room, confusion and fear etched on her face, until her eyes landed on Alessandro. "Alessandro," she whispered, her voice trembling.
Alessandro's heart ached as he saw the tears well up in her eyes. He pulled her into his arms, holding her close as he kissed her forehead, whispering sweet nothings into her ear. "You're safe now, Heaven. I've got you. You're safe."
Heaven's body relaxed into his embrace, her breathing slowing as he rocked her back and forth. Alessandro scooped her up in his arms, carrying her to his bedroom, where he laid her down on the bed. He climbed in beside her, holding her close, his arms wrapped tightly around her.
As the storm raged on outside, Alessandro held Heaven, his heart filled with a deep longing to protect her, to keep her safe from the demons that haunted her. He knew he had hurt her in the past, but in this moment, all he wanted was to be her shelter, her refuge, her safe haven.
Alessandro held Heaven close, thinking she had finally drifted off to sleep. But as he glanced down at her face, he saw her eyes were still open, her gaze fixed on some distant memory. He hesitated, not wanting to press her, but his curiosity got the better of him.
"Heaven, what's bothering you?" he asked softly, his voice barely audible over the storm raging outside.
Heaven's eyes welled up with tears, and she confided in a barely audible whisper, "Storms...they remind me of my sister. She died in a car accident during a storm a few years back."
Alessandro's heart went out to her as she burst into tears, her body shaking with sobs. He held her closer, trying to offer what little comfort he could. Memories were flooding back to her, and he could feel her pain and grief like a palpable force.
As she cried, Alessandro stroked her hair, his fingers gentle and soothing. He whispered soft words of comfort, trying to calm the storm raging within her. He held her for what felt like an eternity, his heart aching with empathy and compassion.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Heaven's sobs subsided, and she lay there, her body exhausted from the emotional turmoil. Alessandro continued to hold her, his arms a safe haven, his presence a reminder that she was not alone.
As the storm outside began to continued, Heaven's tears slowly dried, and she lay there, her body still shaking with occasional sobs. Alessandro held her close, his heart heavy with sorrow and regret. He knew he couldn't erase the pain of her past, but he wanted to be there for her, to support her through the darkness.
After a while, Heaven's breathing slowed, and she looked up at Alessandro, her eyes red and puffy from crying. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I didn't mean to burden you with this."
Alessandro's expression was filled with compassion. "You're not a burden, sweetheart. You're a strong, beautiful woman who's been through hell and back. I'm here for you, always."
Heaven's gaze searched his face, and for a moment, Alessandro thought he saw a glimmer of hope, a spark of trust. Then, she nodded, her eyes closing as she snuggled deeper into his embrace.
Alessandro held her close, his mind racing with thoughts of how he could make it right, how he could help her heal. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but he was willing to do whatever it took to help her find peace, to help her forget the pain of her past.
As the night wore on, Alessandro held Heaven, his heart filled with a deep longing to protect her, to keep her safe from the demons that haunted her. He knew he had hurt her in the past, but in this moment, all he wanted was to be her shelter, her refuge, her safe haven.
...
Alessandro swiftly left the room, his heart racing as he responded to the alarm blaring through his house. He closed the door behind him, ensuring Heaven's peaceful sleep wasn't disturbed. Downstairs, he found standing in his living room, drenched from the storm.
"Well, well, well! Look who's finally decided to answer their door!" Edward exclaimed, his sarcastic tone piercing through the tension. "I was starting to think I'd have to break in and make myself at home...which, let's be real, wouldn't be a bad thing considering your taste in decor."
Alessandro rolled his eyes, chuckling despite himself. "Edward, what are you doing here?"
"Car broke down a mile away," Edward explained, shaking the water off his coat.
"Had to walk here in this mess. I was worried about you, man. Thought maybe you'd finally lost it and were holed up in here with a bunch of cats."
Alessandro laughed, lowering his gun. "No cats, Edward. I'm trying to help Heaven through something."
Edward's eyes sparkled with curiosity. "Oh? And how's that going for you? Playing hero, are we?"
Alessandro hesitated, then revealed, "She means a lot to me, bro."
Edward's expression turned thoughtful, his tone losing its sarcastic edge. "Well, well, well! Look who's finally fallen head over heels! I'm happy for you. You deserve it, man. You've been through a lot."
Alessandro nodded, his eyes dropping. "Anyways, I've been having doubts about the kids...if I'm really their father."
Edward's eyes widened in surprise. "What makes you think that?"
Alessandro's face contorted in anguish. "Who knows how long that whore been cheating, I want to make sure their mine. I love all of them but I'm not a fucking kid that's not mine!"
Edward nodded his head understandingly before smiling, his sarcastic tone returning. "Of course, I'm here for you! Who else is going to put up with your crap? Now, how about we get some coffee and and talk about mess?"
