"This is Ishika Sharma, she will be joining us from today," I announced proudly, introducing Ishika to the rest of the team. I had suggested to Ishika to work with us as she was struggling with financial issues, and though hesitant at first, I managed to convince her. It wasn't just because she was my best friend, but because she was talented and deserving.
"Hello," Aahana greeted Ishika warmly, waving to her, and Ishika returned the smile. Ruhan introduced himself next, and we quickly resumed our discussion about the Research Centre project.
I marveled at how quickly everyone bonded, despite it being just a short span of time. By the time we finished our work, it was already past lunchtime.
"Hey guys, let's go for lunch at our favorite restaurant," Aahana suggested enthusiastically.
"Yeah, that sounds great! It's a treat from Avni," Ruhan chimed in, grinning.
I glanced at him with confusion. "Shaadi me toh bulaya nahi, party hi de de?" Ruhan teased, raising an eyebrow.
"Guys Mujhey toh pata bhi nhi tha and the next I heard was her reception news on social media" Aahana complaint, Ishika didn't said anything as she was aware of everything.
I smiled, touched by their camaraderie. "Theek hai, baba chalo, I will pay, happy!"
"Very much, but remember next time It will be from your husband" Aahna Said standing up from her seat.
"See I told she would be blushing just a mere mention of her husband" Ishika pointes at my face.
"Shutup you guys!. I said turning to the other side.
And with laughter and banter began filling the air.
As we walked to our favorite restaurant, the conversation flowed easily among us.
Ishika shared stories from our college, and Aahana and Ruhan listened intently, offering words of her.
"I can't thank you guys enough for this opportunity," Ishika said gratefully, turning towards us with a smile. "I was really struggling, and this job means everything to me."
I smiled back, feeling a surge of pride in being able to help my friend. And then Ruhan interjected "You don't have to thank us Ishika. You're incredibly talented, and you deserve this chance."
Aahana nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, Ishika. We're lucky to have you on the team."
As we reached the restaurant, the familiar aroma of delicious food greeted us, and my stomach rumbled in anticipation.
We settled into our seats, and soon the table was filled with plates of steaming hot dishes.
"Avni, why aren't you eating?" Aahana questioned, her gaze falling on the untouched food on my plate.
