Later on Harry, Hermione, and Ann were in the Great Hall with their books open studying when Hedwig landed with a loud thud on Harry's spellbooks.
"Hi, Hedwig," Harry said, feeling not so cheerful to see her. Ron was with them in the Great Hall as well, but he was playing with his Chocolate Frog Card collection instead of studying. Hermione noticed this
"Look at you playing with your cards. Pathetic! We've got final exams coming up soon," she scolded
"I'm ready," Ron said boldly,
"Please," Ann scoffed
"Ask me any question," Ron said ignoring Ann
"Alright. What's the three most crucial ingredients in a Forgetfulness Potion?," Hermoine asked him
"I forgot," Ron said sheepishly.
"And what might I ask do you plan to do it if this comes up in a final exam?,"
"Copy off you?," Ron said sarcastically.
"No you twat!," Hermione said sternly,
"Besides, according to Professor McGonagall, we're to be given special quills bewitched with an anti-cheating spell," Ann added
"That's insulting! It's as if they don't trust us!," Ron said, outraged.
"And why in Merlin would that be?," Ann said before coughing loudly. Ron rolled his eyes and went back to playing with his cards.
"Dumbledore again!," Ron said as he threw one of his cards aside.
As everyone except Ron went back to studying, there was laughter that gradually got louder by the entrance. Ann turned in the direction of the laughter to see what was so funny.
"Oh no! Guys, look," Ann said as Neville came jumping in with his legs stuck together.
"Leg-Locker curse?," Ron said.
"Who would do a Leg-Locker Curse on Neville?," Hermoine asked
"Take a wild guess," Ann said.
"Malfoy!," Harry said
"You have got to start standing up to people, Neville," Ron said.
"How? I can barely stand... at all.," Neville said. Then Seamus pulled out his wand and stood up and said,
"I'll do the counter curse!," he said
"No! That's all he needs. You to set his bloody kneecaps on fire," Ann said as Neville nodded. Seamus slammed his wand on the table and glared at Neville and said,
"I don't appreciate the insinuation Longbottom! Besides, if anyone cares to notice, my eyebrows have completely grown back!," Seamus walked away, but when he turned away from them, it revealed a noticeable bald patch on the back of his head. Ann and Hermione tried to keep from laughing.
"Has he maybe tried a Hair-Growth potion," Hermoine said,
"Just a few drops oughta do it," Ann joked before doing the counter curse on Neville.
"I found him!!," Harry exclaimed when he picked up one of Ron's cards and showed it to him. Ron read the card.
"Dumbledore is particularly famous for his defeat of the dark wizard Grindalwald in 1945. And his work on alchemy with his partner, Nickolas Flamel!!"
"I knew the name sounded familiar, I read it on the train that day," Harry said. "Follow me!," Hermione said. Ann scrambled to grab her stuff before running after them.
Ann finally found Harry and Ron in the library who were sitting there waiting for Hermione and studying.
"Where have you been?," Ron said.
"Looking for you guys," Ann said, sitting by his side.
"Makes sense," Ron said as Ann elbowed him. Then, Hermione finally appeared with a large book in her hands.
"I had you looking in the wrong section! How could I be so stupid?," Hermione said as she slammed the book in front of Ron, Harry, and Ann who all jumped. "I checked this out a few weeks ago for a bit of light reading," Hermione said as she sat down in front of them.
"This is light?," Ron asked. Hermione glared at him as she scrolled down the page,
"Of course! Here it is! Nicolas Flamel is the only known maker of the Sorcerer's Stone," she said
"The what?," Harry, Ron, and Ann said together.
"Honestly. Don't you guys read?," Hermoine said accusingly
"I read," Ann said as Ron and Harry looked at her. Hermione started reading the section about the Sorcerer's Stone.
"The Sorcerer's Stone is a legendary substance with astonishing powers. It will turn any metal into pure gold and produces the Elixir of Life, which will make the drinker immortal," Hermoine started
"Immortal?," Ron asked.
"It means you'll never die," Ann said.
"I know what it means!," Ron said.
"Shh!," Harry said. Hermione continued reading.
"The only stone currently in existence belongs to Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the noted alchemist, who last year celebrated his 665th birthday!," she finished
"Woah!," Ron said,
"That's old," Ann added
"That's what Fluffys guarding on the third floor. That's what's under the trapdoor... the Sorcerer's Stone!," Hermoine said as Harry, Ron, and Ann looked at each other astonished.
