Ann walked into the breakfast hall meeting up with Hermoine and Ron.
"Where's Harry?," she asked them
"Some early practice thing with Wood," Ron siad
"Why wasn't I invited?," Ann asked
"Probably cause you already know everything 'about Quidditch," Ron said
"Right yeah," Ann said, starting to eat her breakfast. After breakfast the three headed to charms and met Harry there. Ann sat by Ron and Harry sat by Hermoine. The class was taught by Professor Flitwick who was a tiny little wizard who had to stand on a pile of books to look over his desk and the other students. In this class, Flitwick was teaching the students how to levitate objects.
"One of a wizard's most rudimentary skills is levitation, the ability to make objects fly," Flitwick explained. Flitch checked to see they all had their feathers
"Now, uh, don't forget the nice wrist movement we've been practicing, hmm? The swish and flick. Everyone," he told them as the students picked up their wands,
"Swish and flick. Good. And enunciate. Wingardium Leviosa. Off you go then," Flitlick said and the students started practicing the Levitation spell.
"Wingardium Levio-saaa," Malfoy said in an attempt to make his feather levitate, but nothing happened. It was very difficult. Ron and Ann swished and flicked, but the feather they were supposed to be sending skyward just lay on the desk.
"Wingardium Leviosa," Ann said again she almost had it but her feather kept falling down.
"Wingardrium Leviosar," Ron who was trying desperately to make the feather levitate yelled, but nothing happened. Ron then whacked the wand numerous times.
"Stop, stop, stop," Ann said, grabbing Ron's wand like a mad person.
"Give me my wand back," ran said grabbing his wand
"Ok, but you're definitely going to take someone's eye out. Besides, you're saying it wrong," Ann told him
"Alright," Rong said, putting his wand down. Ann pointed over at Hermione and Ron looked over at their friend.
"Wingardium Leviosa," Hermione said crisply. The feather glowed for a second and started lifting up as Hermione flicked her wand to make the feather go higher.
"Oh, well done!," Flitwick said, impressed by Hermione's perfect performance of the Levitation spell,
"See here, everyone! Ms. Granger's done it! Oh, splendid!," Flitlick said as Harry put his head on his books gloomily. Seamus then began swishing at his feather. "Wingard Levosa," Seamus said over and over again. But he got so impatient when suddenly... BOOOM!! Seamus' feather exploded and set fire to it causing Flitwick to gasp and almost fall off his pile of books and soot to cover Seamus's face and hair.
"Whoa! Ooh," Flitwick said in shock.
"I think we're going to need another feather over here, Professor," Dean said as the already blackened feather slowly drifted back on the desk.
Ann snickered under her breath but Ron overheard her.
"Think you can do better?," he asked her
"Alright fair enough, Wingurdum Levosa," Ann said and her feather went up finally staying in the air. Ann turned to Ron and stuck her tongue out at him. Ron rolled his eyes as more points were awarded to Gryffindor cause of Anns feather. After charms Ann found Hermoine in the girls' lavatory crying.
"What's going on?," Ann asked her
"Malfoy heard about class and he said I must be a fluke cause how could a…a…," she said through hiccups and sobs.
"What did he call you?,"
"A mudblood," she whispered sobbing
"I'll kill that brat," Ann said storming out. Ann ran into the Great Hall and walked right past the Gryffindor table ignoring Ron and Harry's waves. She reached the Slytherin table fuming.
"Malfoy," Ann said Malfoy stood up to face her
"Always a temper with you Black," he said
"Yeah, when you call me friend a mudblood," she said
"Oh but it's true I mean it must be a fluke,"
"Oh please Hermione's twice the wizard you are,"
"Shut up,"
"No you don't always get to be an entitled little prick," But before a fight could break out Professor Quirrell came running in through the Great Hall doors and screamed, "TROLL!!!!!! IN THE DUNGEON!!! T-TROLL!!! IN THE DUNGEON!!!!," He stopped running and screaming until there was utter silence in the hall.
"Thought you ought to know," Quirrell whimpered before he fainted. Suddenly, the silence in the room turned to chaos as students started getting up, screaming and running for the Great Hall doors. It wasn't until Dumbledore got up and yelled,
"SIIIIIILEEENCE!!!," That the students became quiet again.
"Everyone will please, do not panic. Now, prefects will lead their houses back to the dormitories. Teachers will follow me to the dungeons," Dumblodore said calmly. The prefects of each house gathered everyone together.
"Hermoine," Ann said, running out of the great hall. Harry and Ron saw this and ran after her. Ron grabbed Ann by the arm and stopped her.
"What's going on?," He asked her
"Hermoines in the girls bathroom crying cause of Malfoy," she told him
"Oh," the two boys realized. They ran off down the corridors to the girl's bathroom when they suddenly stopped after hearing a grunting noise at the end of the hall.
"Think the troll's left the dungeons," Ron said. Harry pulled Ron and Ann into a doorway and a large ugly troll thumped by into a room around the corner.
"He's going into the girl's bathroom!," Harry whispered.
Harry, Ann, and Ron came bursting in and saw Hermione clearing some of the debris that was loosely on top of her.
"Hermione, move!!!," Harry yelled. The troll smashed the remaining stalls and Hermione was yelling for help. The three started throwing wooden pieces at the troll to get its attention.
"Hey, pea brain!," Ron yelled as he threw a piece of wood that hit the troll on the head. Hermione was able to escape from the stalls and crawl under the sink, but the troll spotted her and went to smash her. The troll managed to crack the sink and barely missed Hermione making her scream. Ann cringed at the near-miss.
"Help!!!!!," Hermione yelled again. Harry pulled out his wand, ran forward, and grabbed the troll's club. The troll lifted Harry up and he landed on the back of the troll's head. The troll was confused and started hurling Harry around. He was being hurled back and forth. As he was being hurled forward, Harry shoved his wand up the troll's nose and it groaned in pain.
"Ew..." Ron said.
"Not the time Ron," Ann scolded
"Right , yeah," Ron said as snot whipped out of the troll's nose as it sneezed to get the wand out. The troll hurled Harry around some until it finally managed to get Harry off the back of his head. The troll was holding on to Harry by one leg dangling him upside down. It geared up for a swing of its club.
"Do something!!!!," Harry yelled as the troll swiped at the boy and missed. "What?," Ron yelled as the troll swiped and missed again.
"Anything!," Ann yelled as Harry pulled himself up to keep from getting hit by the club then down.
"Hurry up!!!!," Harry yelled as Ron pulled out his wand. Still under the sink, Hermione instructed Ron with her hands on the movement Flitwick taught them. "Swish and flick!!," Hermoine yelled.
"Wingardium Leviosa!," Ron shouted. He flicked his wand and the club lifted out of the troll's hand and hovered above its head. The troll looked confused as it looked up just as the club came crashing back down.
"Cool…," Ann said.
"I know I'm pretty cool," Ron said
"Again not the time," Ann said, gesturing to the troll. The club hit the troll's head and the troll wavered and dropped Harry who crawled away. The troll staggered quite a bit before it came crashing down hard on the bathroom floor. Hermione approached the knocked out troll carefully.
"Is it... dead?," Hermione asked.
"I don't think so," Ann said
"Just knocked out," Harry added, bending down to grab his wand and pulling it out of the troll's nose, which was covered in goo.
"Ew…," Harry said, all grossed out.
"Troll bogies," Ron added. Suddenly, McGonagall, Snape, and Quirrell came rushing in and gasped to find the troll on the floor and the children near the semi-conscious troll.
"Oh!," McGonagall said, shocked to see the troll
"Oh, my goodness! E-Explain yourselves, now!!," she said
"Well, what happened was... Well, what is it..." Harry, Ron, and Hermoine said all at once. s
"It's Malfoys fault, Professor McGonagall," Ann said. They all gaped at Hermione's response.
"Ms. Black?," McGonagall asked,
"Malfoy said some..mean things things to Hermione and she ended up in here crying, me Ron and Harry came to warn her about the troll had already entered the bathroom so went in to help her," Ann told them
"Well then me and Snape will talk to Mr.Malfoy," McGonagall said, As McGonagall was talking, Harry and Ann saw there was a large cut on Snape's leg, but Snape quickly covered it up and glared at them.
"I just hope you realize how fortunate you are. Not many students could take on a full grown mountain troll and live to tell the tale. Five points... will be awarded to each of you. For sheer dumb luck," the three smiled with relief and Hermione grinned. McGonagall and Snape turned to leave Quirrell at their heels. The four looked at eachother and burst out laughing. They kept laughing all the way to the common room. They said good night and went their separate ways now, all best friends. After all some things you can't go through without making a best friend or two.
