Summary: With their emotions getting the best of them Maddox and Jet find themselves arguing with each other. Would their friends be able to help them mend a year-long broken relationship?

Notes: So there would be a lot of lines from the original HSMTMTS used in this chapter I hope you would like this plot.

The song is Call it What You Want by Julia Lester and Saylor Curda but here Ashlyn and Maddox would write the song together.

"I can't believe it. Jet and Maddox are siblings?" Ashlyn asked the moment Maddox had dropped off her and EJ in their neighborhood. "Yes, they are," EJ replied, as they headed inside their house.

"Not to judge. But why didn't they say anything?" Ashlyn questioned. EJ glanced at his cousin letting out a heavy sigh. "To be honest, Ash, I didn't even know why. All I know is that they have some unresolved issues. Nini and I tried not to pry, scared it could backfire," he explained, leaning on the sofa.

"Hey, Ash. Don't tell anyone about them. It's not like they are hiding it but if it gets out it should come from them," EJ mumbled, staring at their ceiling with a gloomy expression. "Yeah, I know," Ashlyn uttered, sitting on the other side of the couch.

After Maddox admitted that she and Jet were siblings the car ride remained quiet until they got home. The air around them got heavy but no one did anything to fix it, afraid that one wrong word could suffocate the other person.

"We're home, Grandma. We bought a salad and pizza for you," Maddox shouted, closing the door the moment they both entered. "There you are. Where have you been?" Their grandmother asked.

"I texted you and told you we are going to grab dinner with some school friends," Maddox explained. "Oh, I remember. Did you both have fun?" The older lady questioned.

"It was alright," Maddox replied, walking over to the kitchen. "Who are these friends of yours?" Their grandma inquired. "It's EJ, Nini, and some kids from our theater club," Jet answered, sitting at the stairs.

"You both are in a theater club? Are you both singing again?" She asked, a smile forming on her face. "Just Jet. I'm just a stage manager. EJ asked for my help," Maddox jumps in, placing the pizza and salad at the table.

"That's good news. What show are you going to do at this theater club?" She questioned, looking over at Jet. "We are going to put on a musical," Jet shared, grinning.

"Do you remember High School Musical 3? That's the show we are going to perform on our fall musical and I'm going to play Chad!" Jet excitedly verbalizes to his grandma.

Their grandma laughed and said, "It's nice to hear you excited about something. Tell me more." Jet beamed at her before explaining more about their musical and how their rehearsals had been super fun.

Halfway to Jet's story, Maddox stared at him for a minute before subtly leaving the living room and heading straight to her room. She went inside and before she knew it she was fighting back her tears.

A flashback of how her brother seems to be happy now makes her heart stings. Don't get her wrong she loves knowing her brother is happy but somehow she feels empty.

She scanned her room noticing her unused guitar, her multiple sheets of music spread around the room, and a picture of her and Jet when they were kids, smiling so brightly.

She remembered those times they would play the piano and sing together. Moments where she would bring her guitar to their old school and sing during breaks. She remembered the musicals they used to be part of together as kids.
