The lifeless bodies of five scientists laid on the cold, hard basement floor. Their blood was splattered on the ground and walls. Their dead eyes stared at the investigators hauntingly.

"Oh my!" Komaeda exclaimed, surprised. He approached the bodies, putting his pen behind his ear and holding his notebook in his left hand.

"You're not supposed to be here," an officer said.

The pale man crouched down and carefully poked on of the corpses.

"Hey, don't touch anything!" The same officer exclaimed. "Sir, no one is allowed to enter the crime scene yet!"

"I'm a journalist. It's my job to report on this case and keep the public updated," he stated.

"Even journalists aren't allowed in here yet. We're not even sure this place is safe. You have to leave,"

The door opened. "No, he doesn't."

"Comissiomer Hinata-san!" The officer exclaimed, standing up straight.

"I was the one who told Komaeda to come here and take a look. Don't worry about his safety, that's my responsibility," Hinata said.

"Yes, Sir!"

"I can take care of myself, but thank you." Komaeda smiled. "What happened here anyway?"

Hinata shrugged. "That's what we're trying to find out. The security cameras are all broken and we haven't found any witnesses yet. At least from what I know. You can take a look around, just don't touch anything,"

"I see," he said. "I'll go look at the rest of the basement now." He said before walking off.

It was obvious the scientists were killed with brute force. Only one of them had cuts. His throat had been cut open with a thin blade from what Komaeda could tell.

On the ground, he found a camera. He picked it up and put it in his bag. He would give it to the police later.

"Where is everyone else?" He muttered. "There's no way only five people work is such a huge facility..." he said as he kept walking down the hall. Suddenly, the air at his feet felt very cold. "Aha!" He smiled and crouched down. The cold air was coming from underneath what seemed to be a wall. "There has to be a secret door here." There was a crack on the bottom of the door and the gap underneath was big enough for Komaeda's key to fit through it.

"Hinata-kun!" He called out for the commissioner, who came soon after.

"What's wrong?"

"There's a secret door here. I'm not strong enough to lift it myself,"

"Here." He pulled out a crowbar.

"Comssioner Hinata-san!" Someone called out for him. "Oh, I gotta go. Try it yourself, okay?" He handed Komaeda the crowbar.

"Mhm, thank you." He got onto the ground again. After a while of pushing, he got the crowbar to fit through the gap and then pushed it down. The door lifted up quite a bit. He kept pressed down on the crowbar until the door went up all by itself.

Komaeda went into the room and felt very, very cold. As the looked into the corner, his eyes widened.

There was a huge glass cylinder with liquid inside. Floating in the liquid was a man. His long, black hair looked as though it was moving by itself. He wore white pants and a white T-shirt. His eyes were closed.

"What in the world..?" Komaeda whispered.

The man look unnatural. His skin was tanned, but more grey than that of a normal human. His hands were larger than normal ones. Not so much that it was very obvious, just enough for Komaeda to notice. It reminded him of Michelangelo's David. His obvious veins added to that effect. His body was muscular. Not like a bodybuilder, but more than the average man. Despite his grey-toned skin and closed eyes, he looked awake. Conscious. Ready to attack.

"...excuse me?" Komaeda asked. "Sir, are you okay?"

No response.

"...Sir? Who... what are you?" He asked. Komaeda noticed a button near the cylinder. Curious, he pressed it.

The man's eyes opened, revealing red irises. He shot Komaeda an intense glare.

"S-sir-?"

He punched the glass and it shattered into thousands of pieces. The liquid flooded the ground. The man stared down at Komaeda.
