In New York, the bustling city that never sleeps, lived a beautiful and resilient couple-Esmeralda and Millie. They were the quintessential golden couple, having overcome numerous struggles together, never allowing anything to tear them apart. Their favorite retreat was a cozy café tucked away in the West Village, its walls lined with bookshelves, where the rich aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the scent of old pages. It was at a corner table by the window that they spent countless afternoons and evenings, sharing dreams and stolen glances.
One evening, Esmeralda arrived at Millie's house before Millie could even call her. She enveloped Esmeralda in a tight hug, her cheerful smile lighting up the room. "Love, I was just about to call you!"
Esmeralda looked at her, surprised. "Aww, did you?"
Millie laughed, clearly enjoying Esmeralda's astonishment, before pulling her in for a long kiss. "Aww, babe, you're so cute when you're surprised! Of course, I did!"
"Guess what? I brought your favorite snack-gummy bears!" Esmeralda's eyes sparkled with excitement, knowing it would brighten Millie's day.
Millie's face lit up at the mention of gummy bears. "Gummy bears?! You're the best! I've been craving them for a week but haven't had the time to get any." With a wide grin, she led Esmeralda to the sofa, patting the seat next to her while she opened the gummy bear package.
Esmeralda smiled at Millie's joyful reaction and nestled against her chest. "Mmm... I missed you so much too."
Millie giggled and held her close as she munched on gummy bears. Esmeralda, feeling a little clingy just like Millie, was more than happy to be wrapped up in her girlfriend's embrace. "You're so cute!" Millie cooed, holding Esmeralda in place with one hand while feeding her gummy bears with the other, humming a cheerful tune.
"Do you want to go out? We haven't done that in a while since you've been working hard at that diner." Esmeralda looked at her with a hopeful smile.
Millie paused, considering the idea. After a few seconds, she nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! I'd love to go out with my cute little girlfriend!" She finished the last gummy bear and took Esmeralda's hand. "So, where do we go first?"
Esmeralda stood up from the couch, yawning. "How about a park?"
Millie stood as well, sleepiness evident in her eyes. "A park sounds great! I feel like going for a walk." Stretching her body, she cracked her joints before wrapping her arm around Esmeralda and giving her a quick kiss. "Lead the way, cutie!"
Millie grabbed her keys from the counter and locked the door before walking hand in hand with Esmeralda. As they made their way to the park, Millie gazed up at the sky. The stars twinkled brightly in the late evening, and the cool breeze made her shiver slightly as she clung to Esmeralda. "Tonight, the sky looks beautiful."
"It does... but not as beautiful as you," Esmeralda replied with a giggle, her gaze warm and affectionate.
Millie felt her cheeks warm at the compliment, her smile widening. "Flirty as always, huh? But you're not wrong; I'm definitely more beautiful," she winked playfully.
"Hell yeah, you are," Esmeralda laughed, loving Millie's cheeky side. Millie's heart soared whenever she made Esmeralda laugh; it felt like she was doing everything right.
Resting her head on Esmeralda's shoulder, Millie hummed a tune. "Are we almost there, or are you a slowpoke?" she teased, always in a good mood when with her.
"Oh, hush you," Esmeralda replied with a soft laugh. She pointed to a café on their right. "Want to grab something to drink before heading to the park?"
