Alejandro was not just Liam’s billionaire best friend; he was something deeper. He cherished Liam with unwavering affection, reveling in the joy of spoiling him. Alejandro often entrusted Liam with his credit card, encouraging him to indulge as he pleased. However, to Alejandro's surprise, Liam hadn’t touched it in quite a while. When Alejandro returned home and noticed the untouched card, a hint of disappointment flickered across his face.
“Why haven’t you been using my money?” he asked, a blend of confusion and sadness lacing his voice.
"Oh! I've just been saving up for something special, but don't worry, I've been doing okay," Liam reassured Alejandro with a gentle smile, ruffling his hair affectionately.
Alejandro furrowed his brows, the frown lines deepening on his forehead. He perched himself on the armrest of a nearby couch, crossing his arms over his chest.
“What exactly are you saving up for?” he inquired, a touch of skepticism tingling his voice.
He always worries about me so much. I should tell him about the surprise soon! Liam thought before answering, "It's a surprise! But don't worry, it's nothing crazy. Just something I think you'll really love.”
Alejandro's expression softened slightly, the skepticism giving way to intrigue. He leaned forward, his gaze locked firmly on Liam's face.
“A surprise, huh?” he echoed, his voice carrying a tone of curiosity. “You know I hate surprises.”
Despite the playful complaint, there was a flicker of anticipation in his eyes.
"I know, I know," Liam replied with a laugh, bouncing on the balls of his feet excitedly, "but trust me, this one will be worth it!”
In a swift movement, Alejandro sprung up from his seat, his hands reaching out to grip Liam's shoulders. He stared into the shorter boy's eyes with a mix of curiosity and playful suspicion.
“You're acting all suspicious and giddy,” he noted, his fingers unconsciously tightening their grip. “You're not gonna do something stupid, are you?”
Chuckling nervously, Liam shook his head, meeting Alejandro's gaze with reassuring ocean blue eyes, "Nope! Promise it's nothing crazy, just something from the heart.”
Alejandro stared into those reassuring blues for a few moments more, studying Liam’s expression intently. After what felt like an eternity, he finally relented, his grip on Liam's shoulders relaxing slightly.
“Alright,” he said, his voice laden with a reluctant acceptance. “But if this surprise involves some kind of elaborate prank or danger, I will end you.”
Despite the empty threat, there was a hint of a smile playing at the corners of Alejandro’s mouth.
"Cross my heart!" Liam promised with a grin, relief flooding through him that Alejandro was letting it go.
Alejandro let out a heavy sigh, his hands reluctantly slipping from Liam's shoulders. He took a step back, his expression a mixture of feigned reluctance and curiosity.
"You better not be lying to me," he warned, a hint of mischief in his voice. "I'm trusting you with this, you know. And you know how I feel about surprises.”
"I know, I know," Liam replied cheerfully, "but you'll thank me later, I promise!" Winking playfully at Alejandro, Liam spun around and skipped away, eager to finalize his plans for the surprise without raising further suspicions.
As Liam skipped away, Alejandro's eyes followed after him, an arched brow raised in curiosity. He remained standing in the room, watching the smaller boy disappear into the distance.
