Author's pov
Asra brought aafiya's lunch in her room and kept it on the side table. She sat infront of aafiya who was just staring at her. She gently held aafiya's hand and spoke softly.
Asra- aafiya, I am so sorry that you had to tolerate this useless fights of Hamza. He is just not able to understand the situation right now, but please don't worry he'll be fine soon. Aafiya looked at her mother and her mouth automatically spoke the words which she never knew she will even say.
Aafiya- mumma, do you remember the day before I went from this house? Asra looked at her with wide eyes and asked. Do you remember? Asra wanted her to say no but aafiya nodded making asra worried and tensed.
Asra- b-but why do y-you still remember it? Why didn't you tend to forget it?
Aafiya- because i couldn't, and maybe I won't be able to forever. I'll just ask you one question and please answer me honestly. Asra nodded her head with tears already making a way to her eyes. Why are they acting nice with me, why are they also not acting like Hamza sir, why are they caring about me when even i know it's not true,Why?
Asra- because they love you, you are their precious sister. Aafiya gave her a sad smile and said almost tearing.
Aafiya- that's not the answer i know. Asra looked at her worried, she didn't knew that now her daughter would not believe her words which are actually true. She is now understanding how much of a big damage they had done nine years ago.
Aafiya- you go mumma, i'll eat my lunch. After that I have to go to abbu also. She didn't wanted to sound rude but she wanted to be alone for sometime now. Asra nodded and went away. Just after she left, aafiya's tears fell like an waterfall. She kept her hand on her mouth to control her sobs so that no one passing by hears her crying. She doesn't know if her mother lied to her or not but she already had an answer to that question.
When Hamza said about her being not his sister, it took back her to the past and worked as salt on her wounds. After five minutes she finally stopped and ate her lunch. She took the dishes in the kitchen and washed them. Now she is standing out of aaban's office room not having the guts to knock. She doesn't like facing her father and finds it difficult to even speak around him. His aura always scared her making even more barriers between them.
Getting some confidence she knocked on the door and heared the permission to go inside. She slowly went inside and saw her father sitting on the chair. No one was their except for him.
Mustafa- have a seat aafiya beta. She went and sat on the chair infront of him. Mustafa noticed how nervous she looked making him a little sad but he knew he have to be pateint to see his daughter back to normal. Clearing his throat he spoke softly.
Mustafa- sorry about Hamza aafiya, he- he was interrupted by aafiya.
Aafiya- no need for that abbu. I don't understand why you and mumma are apologizing on behalf of him. It's not your fault and I know it. So please don't do it. And anyway I didn't mind it. she spoke honestly.
Mustafa- my daughter is surely a very calm and polite girl. But aafiya you should mind it, if he doesn't know your value then you should show him , that's the only way he'll realise his mistake.
Aafiya- is it a mistake though? I want to say you something abbu but please don't get angry.
Mustafa- I will never get angry on you aafiya. He said but he was nervous about what she is going to say.
Aafiya- for me , Hamza is the only one who doesn't look different. They all have been somehow changed. I was prepared for something else and I got something else and I don't even know what I should feel about it.
