ch-15 Their promise

Aafiya's pov

I am heading downstairs right now because I've been in my room from morning and it's better to roam around than sitting ideal. Well my so called brothers are not home except for Saad sir and zayan bhai so it'll not be a problem for me atleast for now.

As I got down I saw abbu sitting on the sofa with Saad sir. Then came zayan bhai and from the opposite side came mumma. I totally forgot they were home. (Sigh) Anyways I got down

Zayan- mumma where are you going? He asked looking at mumma who was looking as if she is heading somewhere.

Asra- tere abbu ki shaadi mai. (To your fathers wedding) Mumma said glaring at him while abbu spited his tea which he was sipping.

Zayan- aarey par abbu toh yaheen bhaithe hai, toh phir wahan dulha koun banega? (Aarey but father is sitting here only then who will become the groom there) I chuckled at his words while mumma glared at him as if she'll beat him now only.

Mumma- zayan tu maar khayega mujhse. (Zayan you'll get beatings from me)

Zayan- aarey I was just asking a simple question.

Mustafa- zayaan! He said in a warning tone making zayan bhai shut up. Then Saad sir who was sitting quietly from that time, noticed my presence which i definitely didn't wanted.

Saad- hey aafiya why are you standing there, come and sit here. Everyone looked at me and mumma quickly came to me.

Asra- beta, are you ok. Why were you in your room since morning huh? Did something happen. I glanced at zayan bhai for help cause i know it's better to keep the whole thing hidden from our parents,Specially mumma.

Zayan- aarey nothing happened to her mumma,you were going somewhere na, then go or you'll be late. Mumma glanced at him for once and nodded her head.

Asra- i am going to a relatives house,I'll be back soon hmm. If these idiots do something then don't hesitate to call me immediately ok. She said first two sentences to me and then the last sentence looking at my brothers.

Aafiya- offo mumma, nothing will happen to me, I have my brothers beside me. And why will they do something to me other than annoying me huh.

Asra- well zayan will annoy you but don't worry Saad is very calm.

Author's pov

Saad and zayan were happy to hear aafiya words and how much she trusts them but what she said next broke saad's heart into thousand pieces.

Aafiya- (sad chuckle) then what happened to him that time. She said refering to the past and everyone went silent. Calmness is only present when a person can tolerate everything. But it will be gone when the person breaks his tolerance,he'll say the truth that he was hiding from a long time. We think it's just anger but in reality it's the truth about someone or something.

No one uttered a single word sinking her thinking about the past. Saad couldn't control his emotions anymore and his tears fell continuosly. Nobody noticed it as they were too busy to handle themselves. Asra bid bye to her and left and aafiya went into her room.

Mustafa and zayan shared a look to eachother and then looked at Saad. Seeing his tears Mustafa's heart pained but he knew that he couldn't console him when he was also a reason for his tears.

Zayan felt his eyes wet seeing his brother crying and he decided to scold aafiya a little for saying those things infront of everyone.

He quickly went to her room and went inside without knocking. As he entered he saw aafiya sitting in the balcony starring up at the sky lost.
He went near her. She sences his presence but kept quiet.
