Alice

The next day, Alice wakes up and gets ready for Liam's mother to come over. She comes downstairs and finds Liam in the kitchen making breakfast. "Hey, Alice," he says, "are you hungry?" She nods. "Good I made eggs and hash browns."

"Sounds good," she answers, sitting down at the table. He puts a plate of food in front of her. "What time is your mom coming?"

"Around noon."

"Okay." She eats a few bites of her breakfast and then heads upstairs. Liam follows her.

"Alice, where are you going?" he asks.

"I just need to do something," she answers.

"What?"

"N...nothing! She walks into a room and shuts the door in his face.

"Alice? May I come in?"

"No! S...stay out there! I'll be out in a few minutes!" When she comes out again, she looks disheveled.

"Alice, are you okay?"

"I'm fine!" She unsteadily walks downstairs. She walks into the main bathroom downstairs and begins to look around in the cabinets for something.

"Alice? What are you looking for?"

"I...it's nothing! P...please, Liam I need you to leave me alone!" She leaves the bathroom when she can't find what she's looking for. She goes upstairs again, into her bedroom. She finally finds what she's looking for in her luggage, her anxiety medication. She lets out a sigh of relief before opening the medication and taking a pill out.

She walks into the bathroom and takes the medication with some water. Afterwards she exits the room, and walks right into Liam. She falls backward, causing her to drop the pill bottle scattering its contents all over the floor.

Liam reaches out and steadies her. "Alice, what did you just spill all over the floor?"

"N...nothing!" She kneels down and begins to pick up her medication. He snatches her medication from her hand.

"Alice, what is this for?"

"I...uh...I...." She looks like she may start crying. "Liam, give me my medication back!" She grabs the bottle back from him and cleans up the rest of the spilled medication. After the medication is cleaned up, she tucks the bottle back into her luggage.

"Alice, tell me what that medication is for!"

"It's n...nothing!" She tries to push him away to no avail. "L...Liam, move out of the way!"

"Not until you tell me what that medication is for!"

"L...Liam..."

"Alice!"

"...." She looks away from him. "I...it's....it's for a...an...anxiety."

"Oh...I thought it was for something else."

She looks sadly at the ground. "Like what?"

"I don't know, a medical condition that doesn't have a cure?"

"N...no, it's nothing like that. I have really bad anxiety. I always have, ever since I was younger."

Before Liam can answer, the doorbell rings. "Oh, that must be my mom. Come on, let's go greet her." She pales before taking his hand and following him downstairs. He opens the door. "Hey, mom."

"Liam," his mother answers, pulling him into a hug. She sees Alice. "You must be Alice." She examines her. "My son is right, you are beautiful."

Alice blushes. "T...thank you," she whispers, nervously.
