Liam

"Um Cedar?" Liam asks, "What the hell just happened?"

"Mate thinks we cheated on her!" Cedar cries out, upset.

"What? We haven't though. Why would she think that?"

"Don't know, don't know!"

He goes downstairs again, waiting for Alice to come out of her room again. She doesn't though. He sends her a text. "Alice, come downstairs so we can talk about this."

"No!" she responds, "Leave!"

He sighs. "Fine, but I'm coming back later." He leaves her house, returning to his apartment. Once he's home, he calls his mom. "Mom? I need help."

"What did you do?" she replies, sounding suspicious.

"Alice thinks I cheated on her!"

"Liam! Tell me you didn't!"

"I didn't, I swear!"

"Where are you right now?"

"At my apartment. She told me to leave her house, so I did."

"Probably a wise choice for now. Let's leave her be for a few days."

"But mom..."

"Trying to talk to her right now will only do more harm than good!"

"Fine, I'll leave her alone for now!"

Alice

Alice buries herself into her painting, to stop herself from thinking about Liam. "It's...okay," she whispers, "I'll be okay. I've gone through this before. I just have to get through it again."

A few days pass and she continues to throw herself into her work. Liam sends her texts everyday, begging her to listen to him, to explain why she thinks he's cheating on her, but she ignores him.

One day, there's a knock on the door, Alice opens the door and to her surprise her sister stands outside. "E...Ember?" she whispers, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm here to pick up something," her sister curtly answers.

"Oh...come in, I'll be in the living room if you need me."

Ember comes into the house and she wanders upstairs to get what she'd come for. Alice retreats to the living room, where she sits down on the couch. Eventually, Ember comes back downstairs, holding some clothing. "Alice?" she asks softly, "Are you okay?"

"Yes, I met someone, but he's been cheating on me the entire relationship."

"Really?"

"I overheard him talking to her the other day. He said that he missed her, that he couldn't wait to see her."

"Have you asked him about that conversation?"

"No, what's the point? He'll deny it."

Ember sighs. "Alice, you really ought to talk to him about what you heard."

"I know."
Ember looks worried. "Are you sure you're feeling okay, Alice? You don't look well."

"I've just been a bit nauseous the last few days. It'll pass."

She looks displeased. "Do you have a doctor's appointment set up?"

"N...no, why would I?"

She sighs, looking frustrated. "Alice, if you're been feeling nauseous the last few days and it hasn't gotten better, why haven't you scheduled a doctor's appointment?"
