THROUGHOUT THE WEEK MALAKAI AND MIKA KEPT IN TOUCH a little more than usual. She enjoyed spending time with him but she felt bad for standing up Anthony a few times due to Malakais "Mistakes".
Mika had been sitting next to Malakai during last period which was history, it was sad to say they were inseparable. He looked over her shoulder as she continued finishing up her paper.
"Number 3?"He asked moving closer to her she turned to him rolling her eyes moving closer to him showing him her paper as she started doodling in her notebook. Malakai noticed she wasn't giving him back the same energy he was she was giving him a short hand.
"What's up with you?"He asked taping her elbow
"Nothing"She replied not looking at him but looked down and continued doodling.
"You seem distant, did I do something?"He asked
"No.... I just feel like you're gate keeping me"She whispered, the two were now face to face their cheeks on their fists so no one could put together what they were talking about.
"What do you mean?"He asked
"All of a sudden you wanna introduce me to everyone then when I wanna hang out with someone else it's a problem" She ranted
"It's- I kinda just like you" he admitted not knowing how she was gonna take it.
She didn't say anything put press her lips together, she pulled herself away from the conversation with a straight look on her face.
Malakai shut his eyes, placing his palm on his forehead
"Fuck"he mumbled to himself.
"It's fine if you don't feel the same way I just-" Malakai suddenly gave up on trying to talk his way out of this. For the rest of the class they stayed apart until the bell rang letting them separate.
Mika didn't have feelings for Malakai but there was nothing to dislike about him, He was charming and a sweetheart. She just didn't wanna lie to him and tell him she felt the same way when she didn't. Mika was now in her moms car, the ride was silent until her mom broke the silence wanting to catch up with her daughter. Mika had her cheek against her fist leaning on it as usual with an upset look on her face.
