I still suck at naming chapters, forgive me.
"I'm from the Coruscant Guard. I need to speak with mrs. and mr. Yure," Fox told the serious looking maid that opened the door of the Yures' mansion. He showed her his ID, as if his armor wasn't enough of an identification. It's not like the maid could tell him apart from the millions of other clones in the galaxy anyway.
"I'm afraid that is not going to be possible. Lord Dushian is currently preocupied and lady Belia is spending time with her son and does not wish to be disturbed."
Fox scowled in the privacy of his helmet. Did they seriously think that was enough of a reason for Fox to leave? "I need to speak to them."
"I'm sorry but I will have to ask you to leave," the maid looked like she wanted to close the door. Well, good luck.
"I would like to notify you that I'm here for a routine check concerning adopted clone cadets. Refusing to undergo the procedure is illegal."
The maid seemed to be considering her options but Fox already knew he had won. "I will notify lord Dushian of your presence."
Fox didn't bother taking the maid and just nodded and waited. Unless he was faced with some of the biggest idiots he's ever faced, they will know they can't just avoid him. Fox once again could thank his brothers from the clone rights organization for starting an entire project of monitoring adopted clone cadets. And for randomly electing the Yures as the one examined family from a thousand. What a coincidence.
"Lord Dushian is expecting you in his office," the maid returned and gestured for him to enter the house. Fox made sure to ignore the doormat and smirked at the maid's subtle wince when his dusty shoes met the spotchless floor.
The entire mansion was luxurious, all the huge rooms they passed being full of high quality furniture and adorned with countless decorations. An average peace of furniture in the mansion cost about five times more than an average clone trooper. Another prove how easy it probably was for the Yures to pucharse a cadet. Fox did his research. He asked Wolffe because guess whose general adopted an entire batch of cadets? Well, Wolffe told him the only thing you had to do to get a cadet was pay 100 credits, show them documents about having housing and prove you have at least 100 credits on your bank account and the cadet was yours. It was insultingly easy.
The maid led him the whole way across the mansion to heavy wooden doors. She knocked before entering. "Lord Dushian, the genteman from the Coruscant Guard is here to speak to you."
"Thank you, Aklia. You can leave us to our discussion here."
"Yes, my lord," the maid - Aklia, Fox supplied - bowed her head respectfully before leaving the office.
"Mr. Yure," Fox looked at the occupant of the office through the visor of his helmet. "I'm from the Coruscant Guard and I have a few questions for your family."
"May I ask why exactly is my family an object of your interest?"
"The clone rights organization started a new project. You can find out more here," Fox handed him a holopack with an uploaded poster someone in the clone rights organization has created. The poster was full of photos of cadets with their adoptive families and it spoke of collecting statistic data of how are clone children integrating along with a call to adopt the remaining clones. "You were among the randomly chosen families."
